Devonian Gardens closed until Spring 2010

On August 30, 2008 Calgary's Devonian Gardens closed for extensive renovations. The gardens, which were first opened 30 years ago, are in need of an upgrade, which will take approximately 18 months. Although the plants will continue to be maintained on-site, fish and turtles will be moved to another location while construction takes place.

Set in the middle of the city, this indoor rooftop garden spans three acres and is home to waterfalls, ponds, fish, turtles, trees and thousands of plants. Many bronze sculptures are enhanced by the garden setting. The gardens also contain a playground and rooftop winter skating rink.
