Jim and Kim have made Wai Ola an amazing place to stay. My wife and I booked here for our one year anniversary trip. We stayed downstairs near the pool. The rooms were spacious, clean, and relaxing. After spending the days shopping, going to the beach, sightseeing, and eating, Wai Ola was our retreat and sanctuary from it all. We are from Kona - a similar tourist type destination on the Big Island. Staying at a hotel in Hawaii is not the best experience when you are from Hawaii. Wai Ola made us feel like we were coming home every evening. It was a relaxing and rejuvenating stay. Believe all the reviews - this is the best place to stay on Maui.

We were traveling to Hawaii for vacation and decided to visit Maui last minute. Although we were not on our honeymoon, we stayed in the Honeymoon suite for 2 nights. Kim greeted us with browies and showed us around the premises. She gave us the best recommendations for restaurants. Malas the first night, and Leilani's the next. The food was amazing!! Kim let us borrow a cooler, travel book and picnic basket as we drove up the road to Hana. The suite itself was very clean and charming, with a private deck area to enjoy coffee in the mornings. The location is ideal, tucked away from the highway, but very close to many areas in Western Maui. We loved it and hope to return someday.

My wife and I returned to the Wai Ola for our 10th anniversary in January (w/o our 3 kids) and what a peaceful, relaxing, and soothing trip it was. Best vacation we have ever taken together. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the hot tub w/ a very nice cocktail and going to the best beach on the island (Thanks for the tip, Kim & Jim). Kim & Jim are amazing hosts, from the daily treats to great ideas for dinner and short day trips. We felt like we were staying at our best friends house. Along the way, we happened to meet some other wonderful couples also staying there, who have become new lifelong friends.

Wai Ola is located in the best part of the island. Some of the best restaurants and beaches and activities are right there. If you want to see the sunset, grab a cocktail and sit either on the lanai or by the pool and you can EVERYNIGHT! It's Beautiful.

We just returned from our first trip to Maui, and already we want to go back. When we do, there's no doubt that our lodging of choice is the Wai Ola. We spent a week there with high expectations and those expectations were exceeded.

Jim and Kim's hospitality was top notch. Jim met us at the car, helped us with our stuff, and gave us a tour of the property. Since we were in the Makai Suite, we could walk right out to our patio and then another ten feet to the pool. Our car was parked about 30 feet from our front door. With all the driving we did plus trips to the beach, that was a big deal.

The room was spotless, with all the conveniences of home except for a stove or microwave. That wasn't a problem since there were two gas grills and two gas burners by the pool. Fact is, between the bowl of fruit waiting for us, Kim's tasty baked goods every couple of days, and the great restaurants, the only meals we prepared ourselves were sandwiches for the driving trips. Maybe next time we'll use the grills.

The rooms were very comfortable, climate-wise. The air conditioning units in the living room and bedroom were the quietest I'd ever heard (or not heard), and were programmable by remote control.

Jim and Kim's tips steered us to some great beaches and restaurants. They also saved us money, like advising us to get the Shopper's Discount Card for the stuff we bought at Safeway, and telling us good spots to park in Lahaina.

When we went to the beach we were fully equipped with chairs, umbrellas, beach towels—everything we needed—courtesy of Wai Ola. We also liked having our own dedicated cooler (with refreezable ice packs from the freezer) to take on our driving trips and to the beach.

We are looking forward to our next trip to Maui and to the Wai Ola.
