The Galleon is a gem! We stayed there before and will definately come back. The location is great. The pool and tiki bar is the best. You can't beat it!

We loved the resort with the small beach, pool, marina, and bar. There could be some small updates with the units, but overall we were pleased. The big problem was the night before we left. We came in around 11:30 and the airconditioner was not working, and by this time there wasn't anyone at the front desk. I called security which was listed for emergency. He basically told me that no one would come that late to fix the airconditioner. It was 80 degrees in the room and climbing. It was miserable. We didn't sleep, and my 3 year old coughed all night because he was so hot. I kept calling and finally somerone came an hour before check out time the next morning, and looked at it and left. We were sweating trying to pack our bags, and then they had the nerve to call and rudely tell us that it was ten minutes after ten and we needed to get out. This was the final straw.
It is a nice palce to stay with a great location, but beware if you have an issue or problem; don't expect it to be addressed in a timely manner.

The weather was great, the food was great, but the accomodations were very scary. The middle G units are directly above the garbage facilty. This makes the smell unbearable on a warm day. The room was broken in to say the least. It resembled a college frat house after the party was over. I heard that the suites were nice so be careful what room you book.

This was our first visit to the Galleon Resort, and we hope not our last. We traded our RCI week in Ocean City, Maryland for this resort. The place was just wonderful! We stayed in unit B43, on the 4th floor, overlooking the pool and the Gulf of Mexico. We had a perfect view of the great Key West sunsets right from our balcony every night. The unit itself was clean, large, and supplied with all the necessities in the kitchen. Perhaps the furnishings were somewhat dated, however, they were clean and in perfect repair. We would only replace the carpeting in the bedrooms - they were old, but again, clean. the rest of the floors were ceramic tile. We had a 2 bedroom unit, with a large balcony from the living room and master bedroom. There was a large jacuzzi in the master bath (with a shower), and a large nicely tiled shower in the 2nd bathroom. There were 3 tv's, a vcr, and a dvd player. The pool was spotlessly clean, and we observed Mark, the pool keeper, cleaning the pool and beach area each morning before guest use. The beach was nice, clean, and the gulf water was very refreshing. The location of the resort is perfect - you can walk anywhere from the resort. Favorite restaurants were Trattoria Italian restaurant on Duval Street, A&B Seafood (right next to the resort on the marina) and Bo's. We had a ball in key west, and are already trying to trade again at this resort. Just perfect!
