Booked a standard room, but could fortunately get a suite.
The suites are great! Nice large bed, clean, separate desk and fridge. The standard rooms are very small and do not have any room to store luggage.

Very friendly staff at the front desk. Coffee, soda, cookies all for free at the reception area. Great pool and okay gym.
Lots of parking space. Just 5 minutes to the old town.

Close to shopping and restaurant area's.

My husband and I reserved 2 rooms ~ one suite and one regular room.

The suite had a king bed in a separate room (no doors to close room off though) and also a pull out sofa in the living room area. Both rooms had TV's. There was a mini fridge, coffeepot and microwave in the hall/foyer and a very large bathroom with stand up shower. We also had a balcony that overlooked the pool area but our room had a shade tree directly in front, which was nice for privacy.

Our room was either newly renovated or it was in excellent shape and very clean. Floors were tiled and walls very clean. Beds and bedding extremely new, comfortable and clean.

AC was running in tip top shape and kept the room cool at all times. This room ran $10 per nite more than a standard room.

The kids stayed in the standard room which was small but tastefully done as the suite. I wished I had reserved 2 suites because they would have appreciated the larger room and it was only $10 a night more. The standard room didn't have a microwave or mini fridge though.

The pool here is beautiful and very clean. There are fountains around the entire pool. Staff were outside at all times sweeping and cleaning the area. Although there are signs on the pool entrance to not bring in outside drinks or food, we did bring in some food from a nearby fast food restaurant late at night and sat at the bar area tables. Staff never said anything to us. This place does not serve food.

The outside bar/breakfast area is also very tidy and clean. Breakfast is served out here and we felt this was appropriate for our needs (continental style).

The reception area was very clean. Every day they served cookies and a non-alcoholic beverage on the center reception table. Coffee and hot tea was also served in this room.

There is a small business center where you can use the internet on nice updated computers and other equipment.

Staff was very knowledgeable and pleasant.

Although this hotel is located in the "new" Key West, I would definitely stay here again without hesitation. I would also recommend it to anyone that has stayed in the "old" part in the past (like us) and was looking for something affordable, clean, and without the constant hustle and bustle that "old" town offers. It took less than 5 minutes to get to the "old" part of town via car.

    • Liked — Clean, affordable, comfortable, close to the hustle/bustle without it
    • Disliked — Trying to make a left hand turn out of parking lot was challenging.

“Motel 6 room was like a Closet”

Fairfield Inn and Suites Key West

Overall this hotel was like staying at a motel 6. The room was so small I felt like the walls were closing in on me. The room also needed some heavy duty cleaning there was dust on the walls so thick that when the air conditioning was on the dust would blow everywhere. In the shower there was dirt in the corners yuck! We ended up checking out early because it did not feel like a safe place to stay with our family.

Nice tiles, fresh linen, and clean room. Safe environment. Beautiful pool. Knowledgeable staff helped us get around the island. Don't miss Mallory Square Sunset Celebration and the restaurants on Duval St., many do not accept American Express.Try the sunset catamaran and duo para-sailing. Had a great time! Noisy A/C but would stay again.

Okay do not stay here. this property is sooo unsafe. it is in a ghetto part of town. You have to be buzzed in during the middle of the day to get to the main lobby. When we went to our room there was somebody occupying the room. We ended up during around not staying and going back to the hotel we had the previous night in Key largo.
