Stayed here for 2 weeks after being told by several people how great it was. this was my 7th trip to Egpyt and by far not the best. the hotel is lovely but in dire need of an upgrade! chipped plates and glasses, repeated requests had to be made for towels in the room, and you have to get up at the crack of dawn for any chance of getting a sun bed, even though they are not supposed to be saved.
food was very good, but after 2 weeks you do tend to get bored with it, the italian restaurant is fantastic, food is great, chinese not as good, but ok, menu was a little confusing.
jetty is a mile long once u have walked there and back, but well worth it to see the array of fish at the bottom.
resort is massive and therefore lacks the friendliness i have found in other resorts.
the temp was 59 degrees, too hot to venture out, far hotter than El Gouna same time last year!
pools are lovely but very tired, mould around the sides comes away and floats in pool.
the kids/activity pool is lethal, good fun, but it is extremely slippery, my daughter slipped and hurt her ankle, ended up in hospital having x rays, fortunately not broken but badly sprained.
a lot of the sunbeds around this pool were broken, but you would not notice until you sit on the cushion and fall thru the hole underneath!!
for the first time ever i was counting the days to come home, boredom had set in, definate lack of atmosphere!
i think a lot of the problems were down to the other holiday makers, some foreign nationalities being extremely rude, the towel boy put towels down for us and an umbrella, when we came back half hour later, our towels were sat on and they refused to leave, we got the towel boy who told them he had put them there for us still they would not move and the manager had to be called! not the sort of hassle you need on holiday.
i left a bag for a friend that was arriving 20 mins after i left, i wrote his name on it and explained to reception, they said they would pass it over, when he arrived 20 mins later and requested it, they had no knowledge of it!!!!
lots of staff requesting that their pound coin tips were exchanged for notes, which is fine, but when they hand them over they short change you, i found this to be annoying, i have no problem giving tips, but felt this was being taken for granted especially as they had not necessarily done anything for us!!
all in all not too bad a holiday, 2 bored kids and a tired hotel when you actually look around. definately not 5 stars
