As previously stated by other reviewers this is a good, clean hotel within walking distance to the Old Town / Charles bridge (15-20 mins). There are tram stops and Metro stations within 5 mins walk. The travel passes can be purchased from the reception. The staff were very helpful and friendly, even recommending and booking restaurants.
There is no restaurant at the hotel to speak off, though there is quite an extensive room service menu. We didn't eat anything from it, so cannot comment on the quality, though I did notice that people next door to us had the room service 2 nights running , so it couldn't have been that bad. The breakfast is a cold buffet, though a few hot items can be ordered (ie, bacon / eggs). The bar is small and slightly pricey.

“Great hotel, superb servie”

Stayed on recommendation of other reviews and wasn't disappointed. Initially stayed in a River View Deluxe Room which was great. We were then upgraded to a suite with no hassle or problems when our neighbours proved rather noisy. Hotel is a short distance from the tourist sights but has excellent transport links (metro and trams are a few minutes away). The hotel staff were superb, e.g. gave an excellent overview of Prague and how to get around at check-in. I can't think of anything negative!

Stayed here for 3 nights as as part of a small group for a special occasion. We got a good deal through relaxabroad in a double/superior room with breakfast. There was an option to go room only which was cheaper. The hotel is near to the river and has great views. It is a good 15 minute walk to the centre which was perfect for us. The hotel is very clean and staff were very friendly what more could you want! Think you would find it hard to beat on price and standard. Would definatley go back and recommend.

“Fab Break”

MaMaison Riverside Hotel Prague

We used trip advisor to find a good hotel in Prague. The Riverside came up time and again with excellent reviews and fitted the criteria we wanted. It isn't in the centre of town, but is within walking distance of everything, though those who have travelled to Prague before will no doubt remember how good the tram system is. A definite throw-back from the communist days I suspect, but they are on time, clean and regular as clockwork!!!! Prague as a city is beautiful - quite different than what I had anticipated and is somewhere I would definitely re-visit!!! Everyone is very friendly and they all appear to speak very good English too! The hotel staff were more than helpful in explaining routes and things to see/visit.

The Riverside is undergoing 'an extension' in that there is work going on next door in the adjacent building. It is worth paying for a Riverview Room or Suite as Prague at night is quite captivating. There is no shortage of places to eat in the evening, although taxis are scarce but if the hotel car is available you can generally ask for a reduced rate and get dropped off and collected in a nice Merc!!! The Kampa group of restaurants are superb and provide a good cross range of restuarants to eat in. Check out their website before you leave England.

Overall Prague is a superb place to visit and the Riverside provides the luxury you would expect from a 5* boutique hotel.

“Riverside Hotel Prague - truly a small luxury hotel!”

MaMaison Riverside Hotel Prague

Oct 12, 2007

We stayed at the Riverside before and after a cruise from Prague to Potsdam. Our first stay was two nights, and the second, one. Ont he first stay we booked a hotel package that included round trip transfers to the hotel, a candlelight dinner in a Prague restaurant, and breakfast. On the second one we just had bed and breakfast.
The first impression of this hotel was the extreme friendliness of the staff. We were greeted as we left the car, and everyone introduced themselves and made us very welcome. The person at the desk took a lot of time to go over our plans for our stay and was extremely helpful with information, travel hints etc etc. The dinner was at the Modre Kachniky (Blue Duck) in the Little Quarter. It was excellent and a great way to start our first time in Prague.
Our room overlooked the river, although as it was only on the 2nd floor, there were a fair number of trees too! It was on the smallish side, but well furnished. The only thing we both disliked was the glass door to the bathroom!!
At the end of our stay, instead of taking us to the airport, the hotel took us to our boat.
I asked the hotel to arrange a pick up for us at the station on our return and not only was the car waiting, but the hotel confirmed it to me a couple of minutes before we got to Prague on my cell phone. This is service!! Our room this time was on the 4th floor, and very spacious. But it had the same glass doors to the bathroom!!
I should mention the breakfasts. There is a breakfast room in the basement - light and cheery with what seems to be a live view of the bridge and the priver projected onto a wall. A wonderful lady runs the breakfasts. She greets you, mothers you, and gets you whatever you like. You can have a Bucks Fizz as well if you want. (!) What impressed me - aside from this lovely lady - was the fact that the buffet is laid out with small dishes of many things. These are replenished constantly, so everything is always as fresh as possible. I really liked this.
The hotel is a 20 minute walk along the river from the Charles Bridge. About the same from Wenceslas Square. And I don't walk too fast! So it is convenient, yet the area is relatively quiet and one does not see hordes of tourists on the streets around.
I recommend this hotel without hesitation and when we return to Prague we will definitely stay there again!!
