“Great Hotel”

Grand Hotel Bohemia

Mar 4, 2008

We went to Prague for my wifes birthday for a few days and had a great time.

We were upgraded to a deluxe room without asking and given a voucher for 50% discount at the restaurant, that was very nice.
The hotel pick up from the airport was very prompt and courteous, not very chatty but maybe it is the language barrier and some people don't like to talk too much.
Excellent initial welcome at the front desk from Honza, and throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble for him, would recommend you ask for him if he is duty manager.
David the bellboy was very efficient and courteous with our luggage.
Anna who dealt with us for breakfast knew which room we were in very good attention to detail, and had a high chair all prepared for our young son travelling with us.
The mamngement had kindly left a bottle of champagne, fruit and chocolates for us in our room with a lovely note, with best wishes for my wife on her birthday, an excellent touch I thought.
Just a bit of a glitch with a couple of small things no spoons for the cereal at brakfast the first day and the server was a bit lost as to where to get them! We enquired whether it was possible to get a kettle to our room for hot water to prepare our sons food but were told it would be 10 euros/ day a bit steep I thought and considering we only wanted it to boil water, we decided against it but it was sent to our room by mistake, small things but it is important for a 5 star hotel as this to have impecable levels of service.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to friends visiting Prague and would consider staying here again if I visit.
Very handy location on the border of the Jewish quarter and the Old Town.
A tip if you need to stock up on general supplies there is a supermarket close by 100m or so called Alberts it is located underground and should have pretty much everything you need, as the staff they should be able to direct you.

Stayed here for my girlfriends birthday. Research it on the very website. Saw that it had mixed reviews, but we were very pleased. Had a room on the 5th floor with a lovely view over the rooftops. Room was excellent. nice size, very clean. Huge bed, flat screen TV, beautiful bathroom, mini-bar, etc. Everything we could have wanted.

Contacted the hotel prior to our visit to ask if they could arrange something for my girlfriends birthday. The guy at reception discretely had a word with me when we arrived and on the day after we'd been out on the streets of Prague, there was champagne, chocolates and fruit in the room. Nice touch and the lady was over the moon !!

Service was good. Hotel restaurant was nice, although we only ate there once (so many lovely places to eat in Prague !)

Asked for a taxi to be arranged one night, and we were given a chauffeur driven Mercedes to take us to our restaurant !! I would definitely recommend asking for a cab at reception rather than booking one yourself !! Made us feel really special and we weren't expecting it !

I enjoyed my stay at the Bohemia. The rooms were a little on the small side but they were well kept with soft beds, big pillows, and nice batrooms. They have new flat panel tvs with a decent selection of english channels for killing down time. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the Old Town Square and about a 15 minute stroll to the Cherles Bridge and river. Plenty of shops, restaraunts, and bars are located in the area. My only real complaint is that the food at the breakfast buffet was cold, cold eggs, pancakes, cold bacon and sausage. It was free so I really can't complain too much. My overall impression was a positive one and I would recommend this hotel to anyone so long as you get a good deal on the price.

Thank you very much for your review.
We are happy that you have enjoyed your stay in our hotel.
We are taking all comments very seriously and we learn from them a lot. Your negative experience with cold food will never happen to any guests any more. We have reconstructed all buffet tables using the most modern technology to make sure all food is hot as it came from the owen:-).

Grand Bohemia Prague - a first class room newly decorated with twin beds, sofa 3 armchairs and all this only 3 minutes walk from Old Town Square.
Not cheap by any means but still a bargain at the price .
A lovely week-end break

My partner and I spent a long weekend in Prague and rated this hotel very highly. We were a little cautious because it doesn't appear in any guides and we had a pretty good deal, so we thought there must be something wrong!

However the staff were extremely pleasant during check-in and throughout our stay. The room was clean, comfortable and very quiet.

I would definitely go back to this hotel.
