On the exterior this hotel seems very nice, however once inside the service and rooms are lacking greatly. After 3 hours of sitting in the hotel lobby waiting for our room to be cleaned we received no apology whatsoever, and no explanation as to why our room took so long after check-in to be ready. Once our room was ready we were not given a key and told that since the system was down we would have to hunt down a maid any time we wanted to be let into our room, and we would also be lacking electricity once we got in our room since we were sans key.

While the breakfast is very convenient again service was lacking and I had to hunt the waitress down several times to get her to charge my room and bring me the bill.

The walls are paper thin and we could actually hear when the person in the room next to us was in the bathroom, or watching television, or in one case, having an all night party.

Some pros to this stay; its a short walk to the metro, and neighborhood is quiet and safe, clean bathrooms.

This hotel is not in a good location. It is in china town and doesn't feel safe at night after walking a few blocks. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable and the walls in our room were filthy. Room was small and had no view. The floors and walls in this hotel are paper thin and you could hear every movement in other rooms both above and beside you. ( Quite annoying when you are trying to sleep in.) Good points. Cheap and Air con good. Didn't ruin holiday because city is great...

Now that I've been at the hotel I can´t believe how misleading some reviews can be. There is no way to call this hotel's location even good. Basically you have to take the metro anywhere you want to go, maybe except La Sagrada Familia. This is not as bad as could be because Barcelona has a great (an affordable) transport systems. Also the area, although being very safe and quiet, has another problem, which is that there is not one decent place around to dine or even have breakfast.

On the good side: The room and bathroom were spacious for European standards and everything was really clean. We had free wireless access in the room, which was a plus until it broke and wasn't fixed for two days.

As mentioned in other reviews the staff is really unattentive (won't even nod at you when you come in) giving the hotel a really cold atmosphere. Their efficiency is doubtful too since: - They placed us in a smoking floor without asking first - When we were leaving they tried to charge us unduly minibar expenses - They wouldn't even apologize for not fixing the wireless access for two days.

The only reason to stay here is that the price you pay (al least through the Internet website) is pretty reasonable for a 3 star in Barcelona.

This was really the best hotel we've stayed at. We were extremely impressed with the service, the staff and the LOCATION! It was just a few minutes walking distance from all the major sites. I would stay at this hotel EVERY SINGLE TIME I visit Barcelona. Why mess with perfection?
