“loved the friendly, "family" feeling!!”

Hacienda Hotel & Spa

I booked this hotel online, all inclusive, and THEN checked it out :)! It was just as great as all the reviews said. I loved the architecture, and how much smaller it was than some larger hotels , the staff got to know you, and we met alot of wonderful people there around the pool, and spent some evenings with them playing pool, cards, etc.(Hi to Brandon,Man & High Level, Alta!!) It was fun taking the local bus 'downtown', and to the Malecon, and there was a little grocery store around the corner, Star Bucks 2 blocks away :).
The food was quite good, not as much variety as the large resorts, but certainly enough! The rooms, pool, etc were very clean, and the walk to the beach was through some construction, but nothing that felt unsafe. The beach club was nice, but it wasn't shalllow enough to swim much at the north end. We swam abit farther south on the beach. We went on the canopy tour with Vallarta Adventures and it was alot of fun, and totally safe. I was disappointed they wanted so much for a picture(17$), and we couldn't take a camera. Wished we had more time to try some other outings, definately need 2 weeks in PV!! Connie

“charming artistic”

We found this lovely treasure to be a pleasant surprise. Oldies (ages 64 and 68) we basked in the warmth of the sun, the hotel staff, the turquoise clean pool and hot tub, and loved all the deliciously prepared food at 3 stations (no lining up). Cheerful waiters, and bar staff were available at all times and our wishes were their command. The plumbing worked (no struggle with the toilet as one does with the arrogant English toilet) The shower also behaved, and turned on at a perfect temperature (no wrestling with the hot and cold) and didn't send piercing jets right at your chest or nether regions.
There was also a sweet niche in the shower stall for the soap, at a "just right " level , so no grappling for the soap (obeying Newton's Law) as it hits the floor. It didn't happen. Lots of fresh white towels too. Harmonious pieces of artwork, including large (about 2 feet in diameter) candles, eye-catching tiling, and subdued lighting are part of the charm of this hotel and along with the swaying palms, drecenas and other garden bushes and colourful flowers, well these complaining Canadians had absolutely nothing to complain about. We Loved it.

Loved the Hacienda. My hubbie and I went there for my 40th b-day and received nothing but extraordinary service. Room was very quaint. Nice quiet get away even though we were there when the students were there for spring break. Yes, the beds are hard but you dont want to spend a lot of time in them when there is so much to see and do. If you are into the club scene they always offered a special each night. We found a pleasent little alcove in the hotel to have coffee and desserts late at night. Food was spectacular. Theme each night. Loved Mexican night on Fridays. They put on a special show for the guests. Breakfasts to die for. Fresh fruit every morning. The front desk was very accomadating and if we ever had a problem they were right on it. I guess if you treat people with a little respect you will get incredible service. Will definitly be going back and taking my children next year.

We stayed at the Hacienda in Feb. and for the price we paid I thought it was a very nice. It was clean and the food was good. The beds were decent and we had a room with a tub which was very nice, we upgraded to that room and it was worth it. Its charming old mexican style and not like those modern big hotels we are use to at an all inclusive which was one of the reasons I liked it so much. If you are looking for a party scene this isn't the place for you but if you want a reasonable, quaint quiet place to stay you won't be disappointed. Also the pool is very nice and there was always a lounger to sit on.
