“Wonderful Hotel!”

The Fairmont Pierre Marques

My husband & I spent Sept 27-Oct 3rd '07,at The Pierre Marques, Acapulco for our 40th anniv. We had wanted to go there 40yrs ago but didn't. I'm sure that we enjoyed it more now!! The staff here & also the Acapulco Princess were terrific!
A big concern of mine was the safety of the drinking water! My 'fears' were eliminated when the welcome staff told us that it's the law that hotels have safe drinking water. So I had fresh vegetables, fruit and even drank from the faucet ! My medicine for "montezuma's revenge" came home with me--not needed.
The hotel, beach & restaurants are beautiful, clean and staffed with friendly people that we enjoyed talking with. They spoke much better english than we spoke spanish !!
The consierge was very helpful in helping to set up a tour of Old Acapulco.
My husband thought the condition of the gold course was excellent!
It was a most memorable trip! thanks to All

My husband and I wanted to get away and relax. No tours, no coordinating schedules. We could not have picked a better spot. The FPM is a retreat where all the staff treated us kindly. Everyone referred to us by our names- which made the relaxation vacation even more special. The oceanside room was large, modern and nicely appointed (although a bit musty smelling due to the humidity). Housekeeping was efficient and thorough. Excellent water pressure. The restaurants on site were OK, being able to use the amenities at the Princess next door gave additional variety- although the food there was just OK too. The prices for everything are resort like- so if you are going to complain about $12 for a salad then you'll be complaining the entire time. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking to get away.

Things to be prepared for- taxis need to be taken everywhere. $10 RT to go to the Walmart for snacks/soda/water/sunscreen at a lower cost. $40 to go to downtown- which we did one afternoon to see the cliff divers- just go to the observation deck- pass on the lunch/dinner/ drinks tours. We also took a "cultural tour" with Roberto of Mauritour which was enjoyable for us- others may find it boring. We were not into the discos or late night staying out- but we did enjoy a few drinks nightly at the hotel bars at both the FPM or the Princess. We had a great vacation just relaxing by the pools.

“Quiet, relaxing honeymoon”

My husband and I had a great stay at this hotel on our honeymoon. We were there in November, but the weather was perfect and we felt like we had the place almost to ourselves. The bar and restaurants on-site were good and we loved the pool. The beach was nice, but we hated that you couldn't get to it after they locked the gates at night. (No romantic moonlight walks...)

Our only negative was that the last night there, a loud, raucous party was going on in the room next door at an ungodly hour. We had to call the front desk a few times before they finally shut our "friendly neighbors" down. Needless to say, we were tired on the trip home. But overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This was a wonderful relaxing hotel. I went with two other friends and we had a room with 2 double beds which we were all comfortable in due to the good size. You had to learn how to work the shower, but the water pressure and temperature were just fine. The food and drinks were good and reasonably priced for hotel food. The sound of the beach by the pool made it so relaxing, we had to force ourselves to leave the hotel.

I would advise not to travel over the Easter Holiday because a lot of visitors from Mexico City are in town which makes the traffic bad and more reason to stay at the hotel.

For a relaxing stay, I would pick the Fairmont Pierre Marques.

My friend and I just got back from a interesting week in Acapulco and had a great experience with the hotel and an experience where we feared for our lives on the tour to Taxco.

First the positive....The hotel was wonderful and the staff at the hotel was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is great for a relaxing getaway and you get to use all the amenities at the Fairmont Princess as well. The spa was wonderful and my masseuse Cecilia was the best. The rooms are extremely clean but the water pressure is not that great and the water is not very hot if you like hot showers as I do. Be sure to sign up for the President's club so you will get internet connection for free and a discount on your spa services and golf. If you are looking to be close to downtown Acapulco, this is not the hotel for you since it will cost about $30 round trip each time you decide to go to the downtown area and renting a car costs about $70 a day. The sand at the hotel beach is much softer than the beaches in the bay area, which feels like small pebbles under your feet but the water is not as nice. If you book any trip through the hotel go through Jorge...he is the sweetest man and will make sure you have the best tour guides (unfortunately we didn't so our experience was dreadful)

Now the scariest experience of any trip I've ever been on....We decided to take a tour to Taxco, which is a town three hours away through Maritur travel agency at the hotel........On the trip to Taxco the tour guide (Gabrielle) decided not to fill up the gas tank and had to borrow 50 pesos from the passengers in the van so he could put some gas in the van. While we had free time in the city our tourguide decided to become extremely intoxicated and almost killed us on the way back. Part of the trip to Taxco is an extremely windy road that has cliffs on both sides and when attempting to return to Acapulco he was swerving and driving in the middle of the windy road and on more than one occassion swerved the car to avoid incoming an oncoming traffic. To top it off we were almost out of gas so he was coasting the whole way down the hill in Neutral. When we got to the bottom of the hill we stopped at a gas station thinking that we were getting gas, instead the driver dropped us off and told the attendant rather than the passengers in the van that he was too drunk to drive us back to Acapulco, which is 3 hours away. We had to take a cab to the bus depot and take the bus back into town and then take a cab from the bus depot to our hotel. Maritur travel agency refunded our money for the tour and transportation costs and bought us dinner. They also said that they fired this tour guide but if your tour guide is named Gabrielle I would think twice before getting in that van.
