Just back from a wonderful stay at the Compass Point hotel. We came there to stay since we attended a wedding at the hotel. And are we glad the couple chose this resort! The location is away from the bustle and development of the usual tourist areas making us feel as if we were on our own island. The staff could not be more helpful and even taught us a few dance moves during the reception! The food quality was well above average. But most of all its the laid back atmosphere that had us sad to leave. I'd urge members to look at this if you prefer small and intimate to big and impersonal.

My husband and I went to Compass Point for the first part of our honeymoon and it was fabulous. The room was lovely and the view beautiful. It was the perfect start to our honeymoon.

Food at the hotel was great and not that pricey. You can get buses into the town centre for $1 I think it was the number 11, but beware not all of them come back to compass point and you may be dumped when the bus is empty and told to catch the next one!

Only downside of our stay was nobody to carry your bags - which was particularly stressful for us as we'd been travelling for 18 hours, the wheels on our suitcases had given up and our hut was the furthest away. But apart from that I can't fault it.

Lovely room, lovely beaches, pool and food and it was sunny - what more could you want!

This is a first class resort, yet the staff is very attentive, and friendly. Secluded at Gambier Village, it is away from the sometime noisy hustle and bustle of downtown Nassau. The accommadations are fabulous, the setting is picturesque and the aura is truly unique! The owners, Skip and Linda are hands on, and seek out the guests. Our daughter was waiting for the Stuart Cove Bus to pick her up for her diving afternoon and it was late. Skip personally phoned the Dive Shop at Stuart Cove, and made sure it got there so she wouldn't miss out! It is quite obvious that the staff love working there, as it is a truly happy atmosphere. The cuisine is top-notch, yet quite reasonable. (try the Lamb..delicious!) If you are planning a destination wedding, start here, as you won't be disappointed...and we were just one of the guests.

We got married in Cape Canaveral, Florida and had just a limited amount of time (5 nights) for a honeymoon. We wanted to spend our time together somewhere relaxing and fun, not travelling. So the "Family Islands" were out, but we found the perfect spot at Compass Point.

If you want a high rise, casino, gated, take an elevator to everything and anything but authentic ordeal go to Paradise Island. I have done that (reluctantly.) But if what you seek is peace and beauty, away from it all, private beach and emerald sea, with beautiful grounds, restful and unique accomodations, friendly efficient staff from bartenders, to waiters, housekeepers, grounds keepers, and management then go to this wonderful hideaway. In short, we loved it!

We rented a open top Jeep (drive on the left) which added to the fun; we were free to wander to our hearts' content. I had read some questions about taxis, buses, etc and I am glad we decided to rent a car. The location is perfect, but there really is no place to walk to, other than down the beach, so in my opinion you need a car. We found so much to explore on New Providence and to be able to call Compass Point home for a few days was perfect. When we were asked by locals where we were staying and we told them Compass Point, we always got knowing smiles and nods.

The bar and restaurant were as good as the rest of the place too. And yes, most of the customers there were locals.

The only downside to Compass Point Resort is having to leave. We just can't say enough good things about this experience.
