The hotel staff in confrontational and if they do help you in any way they will stand there with their hand out expecting a “Tip.” My room was a horrible the refrigerator did not work, bed was broken, shower was dirty on arrival, shower head was clogged, bed sheets were stained and dirty, the beach is a trash dump **be careful not to step on glass on the beach across the street** and all this for the low price of charging me 150 dollars over after I checked in. They refunded the full price then recharged me a week and half later. Avoid this hotel!

“Should be called the Nassau Roach Hotel”

This hotel was by far, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life. The nightmare started from the second I saw my room. The bathroom tiles were so black I actually thought it was the pattern at first. After my friend wiped it with a napkin, I realized it was DIRT!!!

After requesting a second room, my best friend and I began unpacking our clothes. I was shocked and frightened by a GIGANTIC cockroach scurring across the room. After chasing it out of the room, my friend and I decided to check the room to make sure it did not have friends. SADLY IT DID. THREE MORE!! One of which flew out of the curtain.

After the roach fiasco, the nightmare continued in the form of stained towels, no toiletries, a rude staff and a pool filled of bugs and trash.

This hotel can easily be mistaken for public housing in an urban ghetto. PLEASE!! If you would like to feel safe, rest in a clean room and swim in a clean pool, stay clear.

Oh, I forgot to mention the nasty beach across the street that looked more like a homeless hang out spot.

“Disgusting!”

Nassau Palm Hotel

Jun 27, 2008

From the first day we got there we had problems. We should've left but stayed anyway...big mistake! The staff was rude, incompetent, and obviously didn't care. I had maid service one out of five days and always had to call or go get whatever I needed myself. I took a shower, walked from the bathroom to the room and in those ten steps my feet were BLACK! Even though I complained constantly I still had to pay their "mandatory" maid service fee! This hotel was disgusting!! It was my first trip to the Bahamas. This hotel ruined my entire experience and I will be writing a review to every possible site letting others know about the terrible experience I had. Never again will I ever visit the Bahamas and I definitely would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone...ever!!!

We chose the hotel beacuse it was close to the American Embassy where we had an early appointment. That was the only good thing about the place.

It was in walking distance from downtown , the fish fry, the cricketer's pub and other attractions.

The Hotel and staff however need a major make over. The Front Desk staff upon check in never gave any information about the restaurant or amenities.

Online it was stated that free wireless was available. However the front desk agent I spoke to whose breakfast I interrupted, ( with a mouth full of food) said that information was wrong and should have been changed on the internet.

We never got one smile or any greeting from the staff as we walked around the property. When we asked the Bell man where did we take a bus to Collins Avenue, he claimed that the bus system was not the same as in America and that we would need to take three buses to Collins Avenue. Turned out that we only needed one bus and it was a 15 minute bus ride. One could be led to believe that he was working on commission with the taxi men parked out side the hoetl.

The carpet on the stairs stink and housekeeping always had loads of garbbage in the middle of the corridor leading to our room. My boyfriend and I refrained from going in the pool as it looked cloudy.
They charge 10 dollars for service charge for the maids whether or not they clean your room.
I wouldnt go back there

“loved it!!!”

Nassau Palm Hotel

The perfect hotel for a small price!! We just got back from our first time at the Bahamas and had the best time there!! The room was spectacular with oceanview and friendly staff. After reading previous reviews I was very worried about coming here but was surprised at how clean, safe, and wonderful the place turned out to be. Must be under new managment because it was very safe, the police station is right next door and there is 24 hour security there at the hotel. The hotel was very clean and only $70 a night through priceline. The beach was very calm and mellow with the best ocean life compared to the other beaches. Heard paradise island was wonderful but it costs $15 to get there and if you don't have a room with the hotels there such as atlantis resorts, etc they wont let you down to the beach unless you pay for a visitors pass so we had to walk about 2 miles to the public beach in flip flops which caused blisters and it turned out to be a real disapointment, no fish or ocean life at all and the waves were very choppy and full of weeds. Our beach at the Nassau Resort was wonderful! There was lionfish, starfish, school of fish that swam right next to you and could be seen just looking down in the water since it was so clean and clear. Found awesome shells and coral to take back as gifts. The food around the area was great, expect to spend about $20 a person for a good meal. Places I recommed to eat at are the fish fry resteraunt, poop deck, atlantis resort casino resteraunt atlas where we had awesome burgers and a dessert called the donut burger which is a donut with chocolate, strawberries, whipped cream and sugar cookies cut like fries for only $10 designed to look like a burger with fries-very creative. The hotel has the cheapest food for $9-$10 for sandwich type meals. The worlds best daquiris are very close for $2-$6 depending on what size you get at the fish fry resteraunts. The resteraunts are also within walking distance about a mile or less right by the water and very romantic to walk by at night! Hotels all over the island do charge a energy and water charge of $10 a person per day so don't be discouraged when charged this because it is at every hotel, I double checked. Straw market is only a few blocks away with awesome gifts. Found handmade wood whistles for only $1 each for gifts, and a great handmade fan for only $5 for myself which was wonderful for the heat and as a gift to keep. Hope this review helps, I know it has some bad reviews from the past and trust me I worried like crazy before going a few days ago but once I got there I was so happy I came and thought how silly it was for me to worry. You won't be disapointed!!!
