We loved Sandals Negril. This was our 4th stay at a Sandals resort, and so far this is our favorite one. The beach and sunsets were beautiful. The view from our room was breathtaking. We overlooked the pool/beach area facing west for beautiful sunsets.We stayed in the Penthouse Beachfront Bedroom river suite on the second floor. The room was excellent with 2 flat screen TV and huge walk in shower and large bathtub too.
We also had butler service. This was our first stay with this service. I will never come again without BUTLER service!!! It was awesome. Ask for Myron and Bernard, they are great. If you have the butler service you do not have any worries. They reserve beach chairs for you (in the shade if you request) along with a cooler of red stripe and water. There is no waiting to eat dinner, you get reserved times and tables for all restaurants. They will make all tour/excursion arrangements for you. You don't do anything but relax.
Scuba diving is good. The dive sites are 5 to 7 minutes from the resort and they offer 930 and 1130 am dives, so you can sleep late if you want. I saw eel, stingray, starfish, lobster, crab, and nurse sharks while diving.
The food was excellent with lots of options to choose from.

We traveled to Sandals Negril in Sept 08. Having been to prior Sandals (Montego Bay & Bahamas, last visit 05) we were GREATLY disappointed with Sandals Negril. Our room was small, had ants and bed bugs as we got bit at night while sleeping. The food not impressive. Our room was outside the 4Cs so we heard EVERY noise made at the restaurant - and this was one of their better, more expensive rooms. The nightly entertainment is weak. We were not entertained or impressed by any of their entertainment options. There isn't much to do in Negril, most of the tours offered by the tour desk are in or around Montego Bay (1.5 hrs away). We enjoyed the zip line tour and the river walk (both 1.5 hrs away from Negril). IF we were to return, we'd stay in Montego Bay - the beach is just as nice as the beach Sandals Negril sits on... further down in margaritaville, the beach is much prettier than where Sandals is. The water activities we wanted to participate in were broken while we were there (8 days) (i.e. water skiing), the resort isn't all inclusive, they are constantly trying to sale you something and the snacks in your room are an additional charge, which is just absurd since you can leave the room and go to a restaurant for something to eat. It makes no sense to charge for those snacks. Photographers are constantly stopping you, which can be fun, but the pictures are well over priced. Their sunset pictures are pretty, but due to cost, we did not purchase any. The hibachi restaurant was not impressive, all meats were cooked to the same temperature. The only steak you could find on the resort was at this restaurant and they cooked it all the same - well done, I like mine medium rare. We were greatly disappointed with our stay and sent Sandals an email about such, the reply was full of excuses, not concern.

My wife and I went to Sandals Negril and had an absolutely fabulous time. From the time we got trough customs to the time we left we felt as if everything was great. We had a beachfront walk out room, which was good. The room was large with a big bed, tiled floors and a nice bathroom. The patio was ample and we were with 50 feet of the beach. We had a fairly standard room but they upgraded our status to concierge.
The Concierge is a nice extra...easy to make snorkeling arrangements, reservations etc. Saves you the hassle of having to do it yourself. Also you get the stocked wet bar with wine, beer (Red Stripe of course) rum, etc. The staff at Negril was AWESOME. Very friendly, from the gardner to the manager and everyone in between, service was great.
Although the beach in Negril is narrow, it goes forever. Very pleasant, well maintained and clean.
Food was excellent. We had breakfast served in our room daily. This was nice to not have to trudge down to the restaurant. We did a few off site excursions as well as some on site snorkeling. All was easy to coordinate.

The one thing that we thought was strange, though not a complaint, was that we thought in the restaurants we would hear more traditional Jamiacan/Island music. The one restaurant was Micael Bolton's greatest hits and another restaurant was the same but with Whitney Houston. That was my one gripe. Some more local flare or live music during the day would have been nice.

I would have NO problem recommending anyone to this resort. It is great value for your money and we truly had a great time.

If you like white sand beaches, beautifully appointed suites, delicious food, exceptional service and wonderful people!

This is our third visit to Sandals Negril and we were not disappointed. Each visit has been consistently wonderful. We were there this year Sept. 9th to the 19th. 2008.

We booked a Butler Suite, again, because we enjoy that level of service and comfort. And for the cost, its worth every penny!

We have had the same Butlers for three years now. So our Butlers, Myron and Bernard know us quite well. All the Butlers are highly trained and chosen to be Butlers because of their commitment to customer service and their intuitiveness. Rory, the head Butler, is always around making sure things run smoothly, always smiling.

We stayed in a suite in the Palms building the first year, then the last 2 years we stayed in the Swim-up River Suites. The "Palms" building was beautiful, cozy and clean. Our rooms in the River Suites were incredible and because of how they are arranged you find yourself relaxing in or around your room a lot. Either in the king size bed (that I call the cloud because its so comfy) with its many pillows and down comforter and flat screen TV, or the walk in shower for two, or the jetted tub, that your Butler will fill, often times with bubbles and rose petals and candles to set the mood. The close proximity of the patio with wicker table and chairs and a comfy sofa for little cat naps, to your swim up patio with two lounge chairs. The view from your room is spectacular! Your eyes gaze from the pool to the white sand beach and palm trees to the turquoise ocean.

Then there is always the incredible pool with a large and actually hot, hot tub. Then there is the beautiful beach which is only a few more steps away. There, each morning you will find your beach chairs set up with towels and a cooler (if you wish) with your choice of beverages.

Spend the day however you wish. Your Butler can arrange that too. Want to snorkel or scuba dive? Want to sail or perhaps visit some of the local natural beauty of Jamaica. We just let our Butler know what we wanted to do for the day and he took care of the rest. Most days we did nothing but relaxed, visited with other guests in the pool while our Butlers brought us our drinks from the bar and trays of snacks.

One day we did walk with some other TA friends we hooked up with over to Beaches Sandy Bay and took a shuttle to the other Beaches with the water slides and lazy river and had a blast. We played in the pools and had lunch then took the shuttle back to Sandals Negril. All included, we didn't spend a dime all day long and had so much fun, isn't that what vacation is all about?

We liked all the restaurants. Each has something different to offer. And I found healthy food in every restaurant there. From Salads to grilled veggies, fish and chicken to fries and burgers, fresh fruit, eggs to order, oh gosh... the food was great the bar was awesome. Half shots, double shots just ask.

Water sports crew is so much fun. Snorkeling with Macky, and Captain Barry is always a highlight of my day. And the great underwater photos Toby takes are so much fun to share back home.

You can't visit Sandals Resort and Spa with out a visit to Red Lane Spa! I had a Tropical Bliss Massage one day and the West Indian 80 minute massage another. So wonderful. And I also stopped into the salon and had a quick polish change. But they offer all the services you might need.

Did I mention the sunsets? Incredible, anywhere on the beach you can capture sunsets like the one I posted.

Are we going back to Sandals Negril and spa next year?
Oh yes, that's the plan!
