“Nice Hotel Right on The Beach - Good Value for Money”

Foote Prints on the Sands Hotel

The hotel is excellent value if you just require clean accommodation and a base to move around from. I was on a few missions while there so it was perfect for me as I also hired a car and drove from Negril to Kingston, Negril to Mo'bay, etc.

The service was very good and any problems I had were dealt with straight away such as the aircon dripping water and creating puddle behind the dresser, I think this is normal for aircons, so after it was mopped I just put towel down.

I didn't rate the restaurant food much as it seemed quite dry and not what I would call very West Indian. The cocktails were nice. Being right on the beach was convenient when you wanted to go for a swim to cool down, I even went in the sea at night as the lights from the hotels provide enough light (I wasn't unaccompanied though just in case I drowned!!).

There is sports right on your doorstep on the beach, and although I only went on the jetski as didn't have time to do much else, the water is so calm that just floating on an inflatable raft was heaven.

I also went to the Reggae Sumfest which is held every year in July and saw a lot of my favourite artists. I had a VIP pass (for a little more expense but well worth it as you don't get jostled and pushed in the crowd where the normal ticket holders are)

I was a single female travelling (but used to the Jamaicans as have family there although its been 13 years since I was last there). I didn't feel threatened and the people were very friendly.

Stayed at Foote Prints April 19-22 with a friend. The rooms are very basic and appears that everything is done the cheapest way possible. The room and bathroom had paint all over the tile walls and floor, would have been so easy to wipe away or even remove later on. You are only allowed one key per room which was sort of a pain if we weren't always together. The door doesn't have a knob on the outside so the only way to keep it closed, even when you're in the room is to have the deadbolt locked. Looked like there might have been lots of problems at some point because there were FOUR other locks on the door besides the deadbolt. The beds were fairly comfortable, not like other hotel beds in JA. Our housekeeper was Verone and she was an absolute sweetheart. She had the sweetest personality and was so helpful given what she works with every day. The dryer broke while we were there and mgmt made the employees air dry the linens which took all day. When we got our clean towels they were so stiff. We were told by employees and others that this has become a frequent occurence. Instead of getting a new dryer, they keep trying to fix the old one and it was broken numerous times in just a month. The beach area was not cared for at all that I could tell. There were sand bags that had been there so long they were ripped open. You had to watch where you were walking or you could get your foot stuck in one. Several of the loungers were broken and they didn't have that many to begin with. The beach area is VERY small but you can take your lounger further away so you aren't so bunched up with the others. Trash all over, same stuff laying around all day and the next. Finally I got tired of looking at it and started picking up. Even the trash can hadn't been emptied for a couple of days. The business next door told the groundskeeper one day that he really needed to water the plants as they were looking really bad. Don't know what the reply was as it was in Patois but the plants didn't get watered at all. The employees were all very nice but were really frustrated with the owners and didn't have a problem talking about it. We attempted to sit on the beach a couple of times at night but were hounded so bad by hustlers and dope dealers that we just gave up. We were told there was security but the only person we ever saw sat at the front gate in the guard shack. I never saw security at the beach during the day or in the evening. This is a very small resort, about 40 rooms, and has the potential to be a very nice, quaint hotel but will never happen until mgmt wakes up and decides to invest some money in the place and pay attention to how the work is being done.

When i got to the hotel i was expecting the worst because of the previous reviews i had read, but i was pleased with the room and the hotels grounds and location. The room was clean and we had cleaners come in everyday, it was basic but good for people who are not planning to stay in the hotel room all day. We had a nice view of the sea and was steps away from the beach front. There were always security men at night time so there was no problems with feeling unsafe.
As 2 20year old females we felt safe at all times and never experienced any problems.
Overall we had a nice stay apart from the staff being miserable and the food being over priced at the hotel.
The cab men will try to over charge you, but make sure you agree on a price before hand. To go up the road and back you should be paying no more than 600JD. Some were trying to charge double that.
Eating along the beach front can be quite expensive, but if you go across the road you will find some cheaper places to eat.

“Good budget hotel”

Foote Prints on the Sands Hotel

Recently stayed at foote prints for a week as part of a cheap airtours deal.

The Hotel is very basic but is fairly clean and tidy, they have made some effort by re tiling the bathrooms and giving it a lick of paint.

The rooms have AC and tv which is great and safety deposit boxes are in the room.

The location is great, right on the beach, its about a 10 or 15 minute walk along the beach to the larger bars (alfreds, risky business etc)

If you are looking for a luxury hotel this is definately not the place for you but for a cheap break its great!
