I got to know about Oakwood Roppongi through this website. Thanks a whole lot, love it.

Apartment location excellent, although was apprehensive when we first arrived at night as it was located in between small lanes. However, we were very impressed with reception services, who helped us with everything including take-out food ordering, booking of cab, airport limousine. Intimacy of the service apartment offered personalized service as there was only 54 units (14 floors). Our 2 bedroom unit faces Tokyo Tower directly.

Excellent location, with subway stations only 2-3 minutes away, with convenience store, restaurants just right at our doorstep. No complains on cleanliness of our unit, everything was fine.

Would we go back there again? definitely. Only grouse i had was some units faces the small Roppongi cemetary, if that bothers you at all.

We first stayed at the Oakwood Roppongi Central when it first opened in 2003 (it was known then as the Mansions Roppongi) and looked forward to returning as we had a very good experience there. Second time round, the property is still great - very well-maintained. Our stay was marred though by mysterious foul smells in our room that we discovered on our 2nd day, to be caused by a dirty oven grill which obviously the housekeeping had forgotten to clean. By the time we removed it it was filled with multi-coloured fungi. And there were balls of dust on the carpet. Overall our impression was that standards have dropped somewhat at the property, but still it represents very good value for a hotel stay in Tokyo. We travelled with our 3-year old daughter who simply loved it there. It is within walking distance to Roppongi Hills and the Tokyo Midtown complex, both good shopping/ dining places, as well as to the Hibiya/Oedo metro lines.

We stayed here with a newborn in a 1 bedroom - it was great. The kitchenette helped a lot so we were able to buy bento boxes at convenience stores and heat it up and/or store in the fridge. There are also a couple restaurants in the area that will deliver. It was a much larger space than you'd get in a hotel room.

The staff was excellent and very helpful. We arrived late at night and the front desk person stayed past his shift to make sure we could check in ok (rather than let the security person handle it).

They provide shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, towels - maid service was 2x per week.

No wireless, but they'll give you a cord to plug in for internet access. It was a very small fee each day for internet access.

Restaurants and stores around the corner, very convenient location. We were about 15-20 min. walking distance from the US embassy.

“Well Recommended”

We stayed at the Oakwood Apartments in Roppongi Central for 5 nights and paid about £200 per night. We chose this rather than a normal hotel as it had kitchen facilities for the same price as a hotel.
The bedroom was a good size with a king sized bed. The kitchen was small but fully equipped and more than we needed for a short stay. The Japanese bathroom was great. Internet services were the easiest to connect that we have ever found and good value.
Staff were always friendly and the apartment was in a good location, about 5 minutes walk from Roppongi subway station, Roppongi Hills and Tokyo Mid-town developments. Given its location, it was still quiet at night.
There are no restaurants at the apartments, although there are many restaurants in the vicinity, along with shops and a supermarket selling some western brands. The apartments might not suit someone who wants the safety of a hotel restaurant.
The airport limousine bus service runs to the nearby ANA Hotel, which is just a ten minute walk to the apartments.

I stayed here for 4 days during the first week of September, 2007. The desk staff was courteous, helpful, and fluent in English. My Studio apartment was roomy and had all kinds of amenities I didn't expect. (The highlight was the automated BATHTUB!) After all the hotels I had stayed in during my trip, it was great to be someplace with a refrigerator and all the kitchen stuff. It was a little like I actually lived in Tokyo!
