The lobby looks spectacular with marble and lights. However, on the floors, the decore is old, falling apart and cheap. The interior of the room is old used furniture and a king size bed is simply two double beds pushed together. Water presure is awful, and shower height is built for very short persons. Parking is non-existent, unless you want... more

I was traveling to Oahu for business, and decided to save some money on the hotel in order to stay a couple of extra days instead. This hotel was one of the lower priced hotels I could find that still had some decent reviews and was in the waikiki area. The location is a little difficult to get to, but... more

Don't expect more than 2-star accommodations and you will be happy with a "no-frills" room with a balcony. The bell desk and front desk staff were very nice and accommodating. The location was perfect for us because it was not right next to all the crowds on Kalakaua Street, yet still in walking distance if you want to do some... more

We stayed at the Royal Garden from 2/24/08 - 3/06/08. We bidded on priceline for 70.00 a night for a three star hotel (yeah right). After I won the auction I went and google the website and was pretty happy with my bid. Ok, fast forward to the 24th at check-in. I was still empressed with the lobby. It looking... more

This hotel was a great bargain. The hotel does look much nicer than it actually is, but it's not bad at all. We found our room to be very clean and the staff to be very courteous and helpful. This hotel is a very short walk from the beach, a five minute stroll through Fort DeRussy Park gets you to... more

If you're planning on reserving the $100.00 standard room be warned.. you are going to get what you pay for. All but gone are the cheapo value hotel rooms in Waikiki so before you consider what these previous reviewers are saying please understand that the average $100 hotel room will include one or all of the following: 1. Musty smell... more

Walk into the lobby and you'll wonder how you found such a luxurious hotel at a discount price. Then, take the elevator to your floor and note the unpleasant odor as you step off. Insert the keycard in your door, swing it open and reveal the reason you're paying $100/night. Our room was so pitifully small, the bed was literally... more

Staying in Waikiki on a budget can be a really challenge, but if you're looking for a good option, I'd recommend checking out the Royal Gardens Waikiki. On a whim, we booked rooms on Priceline for about $90/night and were rewarded with a nice room on the 15th floor with a king bed. The rooms have great bathrooms, a microwave,... more

I will not say that it is the worst hotel in Waikiki. After all we didn't have problems like cockroaches in the room. I will not even complain that it is old. Many hotels in Waikiki are old - meaning the structures themselves - but when properly maintained it does not necessarily matter. Here's the deal with this hotel: it... more

It certainly wasn't the worst place, but it was very dirty and very old. No updating in our room. However, we booked our room off of Priceline.com for about $70 a night so we didn't expect much. The service was great and the pool/gardens were pleasant. more
