This is a great hotel for the money. I paid around 90 $ thru the hotel on-line. The hotel is in an excellent location in the french quarter. Its is one of the few hotels in the quarter that has its own parking lot and it is free. There was also a security guard on duty throughout. You shouldn't need... more

This is an older hotel with older rooms. Do not expect a coffee pot in your room. The room was very, very clean. The airconditioning left us a little warm but the great ceiling fan kept us comfortable. The location is great and the self parking right behind the hotel with unlimited in and out is wonderful. The two nights... more

We spent three nights at Le Richelieu and has nothing to complain about. Room was fine, location is great (especially if you, like me, find Bourbon Street to be a tacky area), pool was lovely, staff mostly nice and helpful (especially the ones serving breakfast, at the front desk there were unfortunately some less service-minded people). Contrary to some others... more

I chose this hotel based on the reviews written here, and like the reviewer from Pennsylvania, I was very disappointed. To start, here are the positives: great location; very accommodating staff, for the most part; and OK value when you include free parking. BUT the negatives for me were pretty strong: very musty smell in the room was awful, the... more

This hotel is in a perfect location in the French quarter-just far enough away form the noise of Bourbon Street but only a few minutes walk from all of the action. We have stayed pre and post Katrina and have noticed no difference in this hotel and pretty much I have to say in the French Quarter. The biggest differences... more

Just returned from four days in NOLA having stayed at the Le Richelieu. I read the Trip Advisor reviews and was looking forward to a quaint hotel with accomodating staff. I must say that I was not impressed. Yes, the location is great. Close enough to everything in the Quarter and just far enough to offer a quiet retreat from... more

Le Richelieu-New Orleans,La LOVED LOVED IT!!!!!! My husband was a little nervous about NOLA because of the reported crime rate. I have to say that our stay in the French Quarter was lovely. The hotel was GREAT. The rooms were nice and clean. The court yard was so nice I could have just stayed there in the evenings and been... more

We stayed at Le Richelieu and the staff was absolutely amazing from the frontdesk to the housekeeping manager to the cooks to the bartender, Rimmey (Sp?). We had a fabulous time talking to Rimmey in the evenings. When we asked where to eat for dinner one night, we were told to eat at Irene's. We received horrible treatment from Irene's.... more

The welcome that we received every time we returned to reception was almost embarrassing in it's friendliness. There wasn't anything too small that the staff couldn't help you with. For some unknown reason our room was upgraded to a suite which in turn was one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in all the years of travelling and staying... more

A simple quiz to judge how much you might, or might not, like Le Richelieu: You walk into a turquoise bathroom (even the toilet is turquoise), and see that, while being clean and very well-maintained, the main fixtures appear to be nearly 40 years old. Do you think (A) "Wow, how cool!" or (B) "How dated and awful!" If your... more
