Gryphon House is is an ideal position for walking downtown and is about 2 minutes from the T in Kenmore Square. It is very spacious and decor and furnishing are of a high standard, although a bit too Victoriana for my taste. There are many extras such as coffee maker, teas, fruit, sweets, library (books, music and films). A generous continental... more

We shared the North Tower with friends and it was a very large unit. The 2nd bed was an old fashioned day bed that turned into a couple of twin beds. It was very comfortable. The staff was excellent! The lady who checked us in actually took us up to our room and showed us all the amenities of the... more

What a great place to stay! This was our first B&B experience and we will definitely return. Tara and the rest of the staff were all wonderful and never hesitated to be of service. We stayed in the Tuscany Room, which was absolutely gorgeous and spotlessly clean. We were also happy with the extended continental b-fast that is offered: cereal,... more

I agree with most other posters and their 5 star ratings. I even agree with a 3 star poster who was 'very disappointed' with their stay. They mentioned that there was much street noise and the breakfast isn't something you see at a typical B&B. This is true, however, I guess I don't place those things as high as the... more

The Gryphon House is a beautiful place to stay and located central to all Backbay destinations, as well as the Boston subway system. I stayed three nights with my husband and we loved it. We walked to Fenway Park to see the Red Sox play. We stayed in the Garden Room. It was beautifully decorated and very spacious. It had... more

We stayed at Gryphon House at beginning of April for 5 nights in the North Tower. The room was very spacious and views across Charles river spectacular. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, willing to go out of their way to help. The location was excellent. A few nice restaurants nearby in adjacent streets. Central to Kenmore station.... more

I stayed in the B&B two nights in May 2008. I chose it because of the excellent reviews I had read on tripadvisor.com. To be honest, I have been really disappointed. Here are some pros and cons (in my opinion). Pro: beautiful rooms: large, well decorated, wonderful bathroom. Pro: very friendly staff. Pro: good location (a few meters from the... more

We stayed at the Gryphon House for the 2008 Boston Red Sox home opener. We had walked by on many occasions on the way to other games and decided to give it a try. Very well situated for Fenway or the city. We had the North Tower Suite and loved it. We wish we had booked a couple more nights... more

This place is a gem!! We stayed there for 3 nights and wish we would have stayed longer. We stayed in the Morningside suite and it was exceptionally clean and well-decorated. The front desk staff are the best I have ever had the pleasure to meet. The location is perfect, right near BU , a shopping heaven called Newbury Street,... more

Stayed at the Gryphon House with my wife and two year old son and highly recommend this charming, well-run B&B. We stayed three nights in the Morningside room, and it was huge- probably about 500-600 square feet of space. The street noise is not nearly as bad as it seems in some of the other posts. If you require absolute... more
