The Hotel Commonwealth was simply wonderful! I just stayed there with several family members and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating - the doorman even greeted us by name each evening. Turndown service was exceptional (the cookies...yum!) and the location was perfect (for those who are interested in the Fenway/university area). There is a T stop right downstairs and... more

I travel quite a lot on business and I have to say that this was one of the most comfortable hotels I've stayed in. In fact, when I tried to think of what I would change about it to make it perfect, there wasn't much I could come up with! The bed was wonderful, lots of nice, thick towels, TWO... more

I stayed at the Hotel Commonwealth twice recently for business and was very impressed. From the moment we first pulled up to the valet parking attendant, we were blown away by the friendly and professional service. We entered the gorgeous foyer and climbed the split staircase into the lobby. The hotel was decked out in classy colonial furnishings that give... more

This was our last stay in a hotel during a three week's tour through New England, before returning to Europe. And I must be honest it was the most unpleasant experience of all places we stayed in. Is this because all the others excell and this hotel does not? Our complain was that the front desk did not agree with... more

My wife and I just returned from a 3-night stay at the Commonwealth, and it was a great experience. As other reviewers have stated, the staff at this hotel are all extremely polite and helpful. The concierge was rarely at his station when we walked by, but the front desk staff were always available to answer any questions we had.... more

Chose the HC because of previous reviews and proximity to Fenway Park. Requested "high floor, Fenway Park view" and got exactly that on the 4th floor. Front desk check-in folks were a little pretentious as most folks staying there were "baseball fans" and not high powered business folks, but maybe thats the "Boston" way. The Mass. Pike is between the... more

The experience at Hotel Commonweath had pluses - but also minuses. On the plus side: --The rooms are nicely designed and well-furnished --Linens and bath towels are good quality --Size of hotel is comfortable But - minuses made this less than a four-star experience: --Cleaning equipment of staff left in bathroom --Movies (DVDs) offered as available upon request (but titles... more

As I often receive VIPs from across the country and worldwide, I want their first impression of me to be positive. The major academic center nearby - for which I work - attracts some of the most demanding physician-scientists who are accustomed to having things "their way". At the Hotel Commonwealth, that prescription is filled perfectly. Since Fenway Park is... more

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Hotel Commonwealth and had an excellent time. The rooms are very spacious and immaculate. My 9 year old son loved waking up every morning and opening the drapes and seeing Fenway Park from our 5th floor window. What a view! It is only a 5 minute walk to the Park.... more

My kids and recently stayed here for 3 nights as we were immersing ourselves in three Red Sox games over spring vacation. We arrived on a Tuesday and departed Friday. This is a wonderful hotel with a boutique feel that is right around the corner from Fenway Park. Our room looked out at the back of the park and the... more
