My husband and I went to Boston to see a jazz show at Sculler's Jazz Club. The jazz club is located in this hotel so we decided to stay there. We arrived around 1pm and our room was not ready but they held our luggage and we had lunch in the restaurant. The suite was on the 8th floor and... more

This is a lovely hotel, across the river from Cambridge. The concierge staff was very enthusiastic about making dinner recommendations and reservations for us during Restaurant Week and answering all our direction questions, even when we called from off site. On the other hand, several of the front desk personnel were less than informative and lacked a hospitable attitude. The... more

We spent 3 nights in the above. Our room was very large with a bedroom and lounge. It would of slept 4 people .The views over the River Charles were wonderful . The staff first rate and helpful for such a large hotel. Scullers jazz club was located in the hotel and is a great place to hear live jazz at a... more

This was a disapointment from the moment we stepped into the lobby. Between the dirty carpet and the pungent smell of chlorine in the lobby, it didn't begin well at all. Our room was nicely laid out, but once again - not clean! There was black hair in the tub and on the bathroom floor. When we asked for an... more

Stayed here for one night in July 2008. Very mixed view. The rooms are great, and if you have one with a river view, even better. But the common areas are dated, worn, and in need of upgrading. On-site lounge, allegedly voted "Boston's best jazz club," was shut down before 11;30 at night. Also, the neighborhood is horrible. You are... more

My wife and I traveled to Boston to help our son get settled prior to starting his graduate program at Harvard, and we stayed at the Doubletree Guest Suites from July 21 through 25. We selected this property because of its relative proximity to Harvard taking into consideration what other posters on this site have cited about its isolation. We... more

I chose this hotel for my family of 4, 2 adults, 2 kids under 10 because of the great price and so we could park our car with in and out privileges (for $25 a day). We used to live in Boston so we weren't doing the tourist thing but visiting friends in the area or we would not have... more

We stayed at the Doubletree Guest Suites from July 6 to July 12. The hotel is nice and clean. The suites are roomy with a fridge and a microwave (our fridge even had a little freezer although the room next door did not have the freezer in their fridge). The pullout couch was actually very comfortable. It's not the kind... more

My family of four just returned from staying 4 nights at this hotel. We selected it after reading in Fodor's and Frommers that it's a great place to stay for families with kids. They were right! It's set up like an Embassy Suites with an open atrium and each room having two rooms. My husband and I slept in the... more

The hotel is very nice. It has a very impressive indoor courtyard with all the corridors around. The views are spectacular, specially if you get a room looking to the Charles River and Downtown Boston. The suites are very comfortable. they have a nice living area with a table for four person, a couch and a lounge chair, and a... more
