Found staff quite unfriendly - agree with other reviews that they certainly did not go out of their way to be of any help- sighs of annoyance were given when I asked for help with making a local call. The room was adequate- but very noisy. Was kept awake by snoring from the room next door- yes the walls are... more

We stayed at this hotel as first-timers to San Francisco and would highly recommend going back there again. The location on Van Ness avenue is within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and a cheap bus ride away from the Golden Gate Bridge. What really made our stay great apart from the decent sized room was the staff member called Sharon,... more

This hotel is really good. It is near Fisherman´s Wharf, the crookedest part of Lombard Street and a CableCar stop. The hotel staff was friendly, the room was big and clean. I recommend this hotel, but if I ever go back to San Francisco I will probably stay near Union Square (where there are more restaurants, shopping...) more

Stayed here for 6 nights in Nov 2008. We upgraded on arrival (I think $30 plus tax per night) to get a room on a higher floor and with a bay view - definitely worth it. Our room was large with two double beds plus seating area. It was comfortable and always clean. Some of the decor was a bit... more

The room was not really clean: mold around the window and in the bathroom, burst curtains, ditry carpet and very old and worn out accommodation. Def. needs a facelift and a cleaning. The staff was kind of rude and we had to pay for the roomsafe, doesn´t matter if we use it or not. Breakfast was kind of ok, but... more

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for three nights before flying on to Hawaii. I had read previous reviews and was not expecting anything great. We arrived about midday after a ten hour flight from the UK. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, from offering to book tours for us to arranging our taxi back to... more

First of all, if this is your first trip to SF, pay the extra charge for the upper floor with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Even if it's a little foggy, you still have a great view of the surrounding area. The room was a little smaller than other places we stayed on our trip, but was upscale,... more

There no good reason not to stay at the Comfort Inn, since it's not bad at all and prices are reasonable for SF. The location itself is great if you want to see the greater SF area. When we arrived we could park our car next to the front door and were able to get the bags out easily (we... more
