The Parsonage is an architectural treasure in the heart of San Francisco's historic Hayes Valley, within easy walking distance of the opera house and some of the city's most dynamic restaurants. The elegant bedrooms have excellent queen beds, multiple pillows, superior linens, a marble shower, and good light; some have working fireplaces and/or views; one has a Victorian claw-footed bathtub. With superb access to public transportation, it is within blocks of highway 101, and walking distance of BART. more » « less

The Parsonage is more than an Inn - it is an Ultra Satisfying Experience: it's beautifully appointed, the breakfasts are superb, and the beds the most comfortable in the world. The hosts, Joan & John, dispense warmth, good cheer, and all the local information and advice you could ever need. Comfort is the operative word here. There are many good... more

A memorable stay at The Parsonage. A beautiful site, lovingly decorated and cared for by a delightful John and Joan. Every nook is filled with art, books, and antiques. We loved the luxurious down comforter so much we're on the hunt for one of our own. The marble shower for 2 shower was a very romantic surprise. Breakfast was beautifully... more

We stayed at the parsonage for the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival the first weekend in Oct. The place is beautiful and we were warmly welcomed. The new caretaker, Janet, gave us a tour of the first and second floors. She was very nice and made us feel very comfortable. We were a bit disappointed, though, when we arrived that the... more

This is a wonderful B&B located in the Lower Haight area. It is a nice residential area but close to downtown. Only 5 rooms, but they are large and beautifully furnished with antiques. The house dates from the 1880's and is lovely. Food and staff support are excellent. The only negative is that there is no elevator, but they are... more

My husband and I and another couple stayed here for a few days in August and had a nice stay. The house is big and beautiful. We enjoyed our room and appreciated the cleanliness of the bathroom, although it was a bit small for 2 people to get ready at the same time. Breakfasts were delicious but not extremely filling... more

We found The Parsonage the perfect place to start out on our exploration of San Francisco. Wonderfully comfortable and sumptuous breakfasts. While a little noisy it was central to everything and perfect with a trolley bus at the front door. Hosts Joan and John went to great lengths to assist and Pilar their dog is a delight. more

Beautiful inside and out, The Parsonage is situated near the base of Haight Street, very accessible to Golden Gate Park or downtown SF. Not so great is its being two blocks from an entrance ramp to Highway 101, whose traffic noises reminded us of the midtown Manhattan home we'd come from. Joan and John are gracious, cultured people, and our... more

My boyfriend and I researched B&Bs in San Francisco for weeks before settling on The Parsonage, basing our decision on great reviews that mentioned strong coffee and elaborate breakfasts. This being our first trip to San Francisco, as well as the West Coast, we didn't quite know what to expect. Joan and John, the Innkeepers, and of course Pilar, their... more

We can't rave about this B&B enough. The proprietors Joan and John were very warm, gracious and generous hosts. The rooms were beautifully kept, spacious and very comfortable. Each morning we were delighted by various delicious, substantial breakfasts which set us up nicely for the day ahead. John and Joan were always happy to answer any questions / offer any... more

Our daughter and a friend had stayed last year, loved it, and recommended it to us. So my wife and I stayed here for a week, and also loved it. So now we are recommending it to you. You'll love it. Read the other enthusiastic reviews, and believe them. For instance, when we had a problem finding a suitable parking... more
