I stayed at the Diplomat Country Club for a conference in October. Its not a bad place but it is too expensive. The rooms are not very spacious. This hotel was truely a welcome respite from the cramped hotels of the beach area. Only a few blocks from the beach, with a non-stop shuttle to take you to their sister property and/or no charge for valet parking at their sister property, the Westin Diplomat on the beach, it is truly a sanctuary. This place is unmatched in my opinion in all of Miami and Fort Lauderdale. You don't even feel like your sandwiched by these cities, so far removed do you feel surrounded by the lush green of the golf course. We travelled with our 2 young daughters and really enjoyed our 1 nite stay. We were never made to feel that we weren't welcome with our daughters as is sometimes the case with country club-type atmospheres.
