The Country Lodge is an older motel property that has been well maintained, in a convenient location on US 50 near town and some dining in Montrose (the Best Western is next door, the Black Canyon Lodge across the highway). Although this is a pet-friendly motel, my room was very clean. I stayed in room 10, a king-bedded room (themed... more

Not much to complain about here. It's an older motel but well maintained for it's age. The front desk staff is helpful and knowledgable about the area. Located on Main street on the way to Gunnison but it's still close to downtown. The pool and hot tub area was very clean and cute. I would recommend it to those who... more

What a great place tucked away in the quaint little town. Our Host 's could not have been any friendlier or more helpful. We had a great nights rest and a great meal at the restaurant recommended by our Hosts. Best room I have had for a long time at a real budget rate.... more

PROS: SUPER friendly and helpful staff. Large rooms. Everything was exceptionally clean for a motel, even bathrooms. King bed very comfortable. Close to some very good food options. CONS: We booked in advance and did not get the specialty room we had requested. Also some hotel construction underway which we were not warned about (facilities unavailable). Most of the guests... more

This place is just very old. It had threadbare sheets and a tiny bathroom. Oh, and I didn't appreciate the tip envelope that greeted us when we checked into the room. I would not reccommend the Country Lodge. more

The staff at the hotel was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They told us about a great massage therapist that came to the hotel, I had hurt my knee. The hotel was clean. When we had a problem with the TV in our room, they came and replaced it. When the pizza guy did not bring plates, etc, they provided some.... more

We really enjoyed our 3 days in September. The rooms are all different, we stayed in the Americana room, which was quirky and attractive. A nice big room with lots of storage space and a nice outlook to the garden. The owners and other guests were very friendly. We only found one slight problem - the lighting in the room... more

The Country Lodge is not your typical overnight motel - it has character. Jeff, the innkeeper, is a friendly and likeable chap with a desire to truly make your stay enjoyable. Without reservations, we walked in and asked if there were rooms available for one night. Jeff gave us the keys to 2 rooms and allowed us to check them... more

Nice place, helpful staff, good nearby restaurants. I stayed in John Wayne's room which features impressive bed, framed photos and a DVD collection. Would recommend more
