It's hard to beat a newly renovated luxury hotel, in Malibu, inches from the Pacific Ocean. Every room has an ocean view. We had an oceanFRONT room (faces the ocean directly) on the third floor. The glass-view balcony just couldn't have been nicer, and you just can't get any closer to the water. The room was beautifully decorated and very... more

Avoid this place, if you want a nice holiday! I have stay at the Malibu Beach Inn this August, during our one week holiday, coming over with my wife from Europe. Looking for beach and sun and a nice place, paid $1,200 for a night for best room with fireplace. After their renovation, the design and build is great, and... more

We were surprised by the negative reviews for this hotel. We’ve spent years (and generations) at the best hotels everywhere. No, it’s not the Hotel Hermitage in Monaco but don’t come here expecting it to be. It’s Los Angeles. It’s Malibu. It’s location, location. It’s the beach. This hotel is one of the best beach hotels, from my experience, in... more

Am amazed to read the negative reviews of the Malibu Beach Inn, as we have just returned from another wonderful stay (our third and first since the hotel has been renovated). Rooms still offer the same "billionaire's view" of Carbon Beach with crashing Pacific rollers, but have more mod cons including flat screen plasma TVs, and lots of nice food... more

If you have cash to burn and have some odd reason to stay in Malibu (an overrated place that sees its overly fair share of natural disasters each month) than this hotel is for you. When service is seamless and genuine, you understand that the money you are spending was invested in locating individuals with talent in the hospitality market;... more

Wow, and that's a negative wow. This place is overpriced to the max. It's absolutely nothing special, and it's not even that comfortable. I thought the beach would be great but it's not. It's really small and not near any larger beaches except for one that's dirty and crowded. Plus, there's no pool so you have no place else to... more

Remember the old adage; "You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time". This expensive motor lodge, it's not a hotel, is hoping it will fool you. This is a terrible place, and it's not even on what local residents would consider the real Carbon Beach.... more

My wife and I stayed for three nights in a Queen Ocean View room and it was perfect. Room was very well designed and furnished with a view to die for. We ate two meals in the Carbon Beach Restaurant which were very good together with wonderful relaxed breakfasts. Nice touch was a faxed copy of a London paper outside... more

I have been to this hotel before in July 08, loved the room, the view, the staff, the attention we received on the private beach and decided to spend my birthday weekend there, the Labor day weekend. My second visit we had the complete opposite impression. The room and view are still lovely. The housekeeping and valet staff are efficient... more

I can't understand how a hotel can try to pass itself off as 4-5 star caliber on account of the decor and location. First off though, I would like to give the Malibu Inn it's fair share of compliments - the decor was very nice, boxed mints at night, fireplace in the room, and great views of both PCH and... more
