This is the most horrible place I have ever stayed. Not a safe area at all...bums on the corners. I hardly slept at all b/c the traffic is so loud and you can hear people walking up and down the hallway. The hotel staff was very pleasant which was the only positive thing about the stay. more

yeah the people were nice especially the filipinos. had a great 9-day stay there with us filipino policemen (PNP). the place was near sta monica beach, promenade, catholic church, best buy, yoshinoya, subway, fbi, etc. more

Stayed here with wife on a weekend trip to LA. We needed a hotel that was fairly close to UCLA. The hotel could use a lot of updating, new bed linens would be a great start. Went to UCLA for a conference with a fellow grad student (females 25 and 30). Had to find a place for around $120 because thats all our school reimburses but wanted to be close to campus and this fit the bill. Right off 405 on Santa Monica so convenient to get around. Room was clean, comfortable and large. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding in good condition. The room had a larger mini refrigerator but no microwave. Continental breakfast was typical Holiday Inn Express breakfrast which these days includes eggs, bacon or sausage, assorted breads, yogurts, cereals and was very fresh and good. We stayed here to do a college visit to UCLA. It was a short trip to UCLA. Room was nice, staff was very friendly. Breakfast bar was good with eggs, sausage, bacon, an above average breakfast bar.
