We are a Hotel that conjugates the warmth of the home with the enchantment and the style of Palermo Viejo. Moved away of the noise of the city but closely together of the civilization our Hotel it has renewed facilities without to have changed the original structure. Living room and terraces almost maintain the same appearance that in its beginning, we continued maintaining 8 double rooms with private bath and 22 double rooms with shared bath, decorated of a simple way but with very good pleasure. more » « less

I booked this hotel despite some poor reviews as it had been recommended to me and I didn't have time to shop around much. I was therefore pleasantly surprised - 'shabby chic' was the way it had been described to me and I'd agree with that. It looks like it's been recently refurbished and is clean and bright. The building... more

Location was convenient and quiet, also very authentic, an old neighborhood, made you feel like a local. Yann the hotelier could not have been more helpful or pleasant-taking considerable time to share GRAT ideas for exploring.Allowed us to stow gear while we were away for a week. made arrangements for laundry,e tc. Room was terrific, clean, contemporay, large french doors... more

Unfortunately, I have to agree with all the previous bad reviews. I stayed with my wife for 3 nights and, although the place looks very trendy, it´s quite a disappointing place to stay. Downs: *Breakfast is not included *They only accept cash (no credit/debit cards) *Room: very small, no toilet door, the toilet would end up flooded after you take... more

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 8 nights in June. We stayed six nights in up top with a shared bathroom and then, after returning from a trip to Iguazu, stayed two nights in a room with a private bathroom. The top floor had a nice patio area. The rooms were small, but very clean and simple,... more

This wasn't the hotel for us. The location is good in Palermo Viejo, the staff including the owner was very friendly and the common areas were nice. Many of the rooms in this hotel have shared bathrooms. This was a no-no for us, and we specifically booked a room with private bath. The day before checking in the owner claimed... more

Unfortunately we hated this hotel I can see how some people may be taken in by the pseudo trendiness of the place, but it didn't meet the mark in so many ways. The owner seemed outwardly friendly and we managed to stay on the right side of him, but he gives the impresion you ought to watch your step in... more

Hotel Costa Rica is a wonderful boutique hotel. PROS: -- Walking distance to the best area in BA (Palermo Viejo -- it's in Palermo, but a few blocks from the "center" of it) -- After considerable research, nicest hotel for the price (very reasonable price) in the neighborhood we wanted to stay in** -- Exceptionally friendly staff and owner!! --... more

Stayed at this place for a few days around new year 2007. It's in a pretty cool location for Palermo and walking distance to the attractions in the area. But I could only recommend this place as a back-up. For what you get the price is only so-so. I was traveling with a friend and we found that the room... more

I got into BA and to the hotel at 11pm on New Year's Eve. Next thing I know, I have a bottle of wine in my hand. What could possibly go wrong? Great staff, friendly guests, awesome area. Highly recommended. more

During our trip to Argentina we came a couple of times back to Buenos Aires and we stayed in Costa Rica 3 times (6 nights in total). We stayed at several other hotels in BA as well, but the value for money ratio of Costa Rica can't be beaten! It's a nice and trendy place without becoming 'too cool'. Staff... more
