“Excellent Hostel in the Heart of BA”

Although we wery not particularly impressed by the city BA, this hostel was great. We had a private double room which was nicely decorated and absolutely worth the money. The roof terrace is nice and a good place for meeting other people. Breakfast is simple but ok. Staff is friendly. Hostel is located close to Plaze de Mayo. more

I loved this hostel! The private rooms were a very nice surprise - beautiful, clean, private ensuite with a balcony. The rooftop terrace has a bar and is a great place to meet people. We stayed here for a total of 9 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff are really friendly and helpful. There are activities like Mate tasting, jam sessions etc and they have their own travel agency. The rooms are clean, the beds comfy, the showers are hot and powerful - at all times of the day and the kitchen... more

Portal del Sur isn't the cheapest or wildest hostel in Buenos Aires (the rate for a single room was comparable to some hotels) but it's one of the friendliest. It's very well located and the the common areas (the upstairs bar and breakfast room) really lend themselves well to meeting other like-minded travelers, which was a real plus for me... more

We could find the best place in Buenos Aires!! We loved Portal del Sur. It´s full of great people. It always has an activity for the guests... Close to everything, easy to get around. The nicest and cleanest hostels we stayed in. EXCELLENT!! more

Stayed at Portal del Sur while backpacking around argentina. It had been recommended to me by a friend and turned out to be a great spot. Very clean and has a great location. I booked a private double room, with bathroom ensuite, on this youth hostel in Buenos Aires. I arrived at the end of January. And what a pleasant surprise.
