It's looks pretty nice from the outside. However, it was a dirty, boring room with very uncomfortable beds. Hotel staff unfriendly and no one at pool or around hotel...EVER! You can hear everything from the main road and hotel neighbors (very loud all night). We only stayed one night and were happy to check out. more

I just returned from Tamarindo and stayed at The Tropicana for 4 nights. The hotel was nice, clean and very well kept. The rooms simple and the beds were not so great. The airline lost my luggage, and I had my boyfriend's clothes to wear for two days, and the staff at the front talked to the local airline reps, and they delivered my luggage to the hotel, which is quite a drive from the San Jose international airport!
