First of all, they refused to honor our 2-night reservation (confirmed and paid for). Tossed us out after one night, and were pretty rude about it, too. Rang Mahal is situated in a beuatiful building. The pool is sparkling clean (after two earlier attempts with dirty pools this was very uplifting) and is the hotels main asset. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during October 2006. We checked in upon arrival after a long drive and after finding out that the place we booked ahead was too terrible to stay in. I stayed at the Rang Mahal between 22-23 Oct 2006. It is well designed and laid out with all the basic and functional amneties and no luxuries. What it lacks the most is warmth and service. We stayed there for one night upon arrival at Jaisalmer and were immeditely disappointed by the atmosphere. It was late at night so we checked in anyway.
