We stayed at the Novotel during the Olympics, as part of a package. We had a choice between a Chinese hotel and the Novotel, and chose the latter, mainly because of it's convenient location right next door to a subway station and a few km. from Tianamen Square and the Forbidden City. Because of the Olympics, the hotel was fully... more

We spent three nights at the hotel. It was a good value for the money. The room was large and clean. The breakfast buffet was really good. There are computers in the lobby that are available for guests to use. The business center was great and the staff helpful. All of the hotel staff were very polite and helpful. The... more

Stayed here for five days on tour (prior to the Olympics -everything was a buzz with the preparations so probably saw a different Beijing). Hotel is ideally situtated for visiting Tianamen Square and Forbidden City as both within 15-20mins walk. We ventured further on foot and within one hour reached Jingshan & Beihai Parks. Free internet access is available in... more

An excellent location to stay in Beijing close to the subway and very easily accessible. As in other places in China, it is good to carry the hotel name and address in Chinese - Novotel Xinqiao, Beijing(北京诺富特新侨饭店). Ask for the hotel card in Chinese once you reach there. Very clean and comfortable like other Novotels in the world. Room has... more

The 1st disappoint Novotel I stay ever. Noisy corridor, non-sound proof window, dimmy room, low ceiling.. well you will recieve calls in 2:30am from Front Desk helping you to fix your room TV ... at that time you already in the bed ... the Front Desk mis-called your room. Chaning your room ... no way. The Front Desk staff will... more

Great location with access to Tiananmen Sq, Temple of Heaven, near to Tourist centre for bus to the Wall, nice bakeries nearby and restaurants. Good sized, clean room, gym and inhouse restaurant. Underground station right outside which takes you to most of the tourist attractions. Airport bus will drop you off around the corner with a 10mins walk to the... more

Location: Good. Ample shopping and restaurants in surrounding area. If you are prepared to walk, you reach Tiannemen Square and The Forbidden City in about 30 mins. You will need a taxi to The Temple of Heaven though. Room: Excellent. Large, clean, lots of storage and comfortable beds. Spotless on-suite, fab power shower and better than average selection of complimentary... more

This Hotel has good facilities, althought he staff were as rude as you would get. English was a non event and the staff at reception had no idea of service, places of interest, tours and just did not want to help. I would never reccomend this Hotel to anyone. They state they are close to most attractions but really you... more

We stayed here for 3 nights over Chinese New Year. Front desk staff speak fair English (compared to other friends' experiences in China). Rooms are a comfortable size, clean bathroom, air con seems to work well. Concierge advised shopping malls open on Chinese New Year's Eve (but were actually closed), also advised massage facilities were open and no booking was... more

Travelling alone and stayed 3 nights. Booked on their website on their cheapest no-frills rate and paid 70 sterling pounds for the 3 nights, king sized bed before taxes, (which was a further 10 pounds). Breakfast is extra at around 7 pounds, but there's a bakery right next door that sells buns at an average of 30p, so no contest!... more
