I was there with a friend. We were combining a work conference with a short city break. We booked early bird specials online and had email confirmation. When we checked in they refused to accept this and charged me a higher rate for a worse room. The hotel is in the centre which is fine, but a word of warning,... more

We stayed in Best Western Carlos V for 3 nights. This small but classic hotel gives no sign of poor maintenance apart from its old air conditioning system (window type), which could be a little noisy in the quite night. One minor advise, try to avoid room that is facing the lift as it could be very noisy when someone... more

Had a really good time in Madrid as usual - we chose this hotel for it's central location and weren't disapponted in the slightest. The room was spacious, clean and had recently been modernised - great shower and loads of hot water was always available - the only slight complaint / fault I would highlight was the bathroom was very... more

This hotel was great! My husband and I stayed here for just one night mid-June, but it was wonderful. It was updated, nice sized room, and a large bathroom. We had a room on the top floor and it had a large balcony with table and chairs. We were just sorry we could not stay here longer! We took the... more

We absolutely loved our stay here. After sharing a few jokes with the front desk about how likely it is that only Americans stay here b/c it is a Best Western, we were assured that wasn't the case. It really is a very pleasant hotel. The centrality of its location is unsurpassed-- just between Calloa and Plaza del Sol, adjacent... more

This hotel was in an excellent location. Rooms were clean and bathrooms modern with a good shower and plenty of piping hot water. We booked 3 rooms for 7 people. 2 doubles and 1 triple. The 2 double rooms were on the top floor with a terrace. Very quiet in both of these and the terrace was nice to sit... more

We stayed for three nights and were not impressed. Located close to Discos, Friday and Saturday nights impossible to sleep. Also, there is no free shuttle to airport as we were lead to believe. It cost us 57 Euros to and from airport. Good location but not worth the price. Would not stay there again. Another hotel we stayed at... more

We've now stayed at this hotel four times and are still very pleased with it. This time we had a room on the 5th floor with a spacious balcony, which was perfect in the warm weather. The rooms are modern and spacious, with all the amenities. The first floor lounge area is very inviting, and there is free internet access.... more

This hotel was in a fine location in the Centro, but the room we had was a dark cell on the interior of the hotel. One small window overlooking the alley. The beds and pillows were basic. Everything was clean, but it was pretty much a motel room for a price that was not much less than the Hotel Velazquez... more
