I've stayed here a few times in both the 'bare bones' room and the jacuzzi suite. First off; it's cheap. VERY cheap for right down town with free parking (but he'll jack up the price if there's a conference in town). Secondly I found the staff fantastic, but this may change with whoever you deal with (like with most hotels).... more

An amazingly quality hotel with a very economical cost. Having the bar/grill connected to the bottom of the hotel is such a huge bonus. Rooms were very clean and well furnished. Rooms contain cable TV and hi-speed wifi internet (free) - you just have to ask for the network password at the front desk. Parking is a bit of a... more

I read the reviews on this site and others before I booked at the Senator. As downtown hotel space was limited this weekend, I decided to risk it. Immediatly upon arrival we were told our room rate would be reduced because there were "no baseboards and one wall of a new closet wasn't painted." The hotel could have waited to... more

Don't let the website fool you! The Senator is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Staff members are out to lunch. The hotel is located directly above Winston's pub, so be prepared to put up with a lot of noise from the drunk crowds that hang out outside the hotel. Walls are paper thin. Carpets are dirty. Hotel claims... more

We checked into this response and found it was from a customer that didn't have a guarenteed reservation during a full period in the city. We got them in but in a dated room but priced well as they are very clean and quiet for the price of 64.00 contrary to the review. Of course they werent happy and impossible...

I had read some mixed reviews about the Hotel Senator but with the city all booked due to a Teacher's Convention we were lucky to get a room. When we first walked in the lobby we didn't have a good feeling as there seemed to be a couple of less than desirable folks hanging about. Then as we checked in... more

This hotel has a great lobby, and terrible, old rooms. The staff is indifferent, walls paper thin, carpets dirty (I left my socks on). This is not a "boutique" hotel. Twice they have screwed up my reservation and blamed Expedia. This is an old run down hotel masquerading as a renovated, modern establishment. Go any where else. more

Great character hotel in the heart of downtown Saskatoon. I have stayed there many times and have expereinced mulitple rooms. I have stayed in 202 twice, and between times it was fully renovated to my full standards. However before the reno it was a little run down, but the staff notified me when I booked over the phone (and there... more

Great location, lovely old building, very good value basic rooms. We came in late and headed to the center of town and found this Hotel. Room rates were better than the Motels we passed getting "Down Town". We paid $58 + taxes. We rented 2 rooms and they were clean and basic with renovated bathrooms and a good matress. Front... more

While the Senator Hotel may have an attractive lobby and pleasant photos on their website, the reality of staying there is quite different. When I arrived for a weeklong stay, I entered my miniscule, dingy room to find a pile of someone else's clothes in the closet. They were later retrieved by their owners, but clearly the cleaning staff had... more

This review was posted by a disgruntled guest who basically didn't get what they wanted. We take all feedback very seriously and try to adress all guest issues and deal with each one case by case as far as compensation. This guest was not happy with anything, and we feel embelished their review unfairly to try and discredit our property....

Right in downtown Saskatoon you can walk anywhere which is the first reason I chose it. It was better than I expected. A comfortable old little hotel that I would definitely stay at again because I think it is good value for the money. A nice English style pub with a hockey game on TV is all I need (and... more
