We stayed at the Moda before and after our cruise to Alaska. Our ship left from Ballantyne Pier so wanted a hotel that was centrally located in the downtown area with access to Stanley Park, Chinatown, Granville Island. This was only a one night stay while waiting to head out on an Alaskan cruise, but it was definately enough to form an opinion. The hotel is a in a old building that is in pretty good shape. My husband and I stayed at the Moda for 4 nights. We arrived in the night and the front desk staff were pleasant and efficient in checking us in. We had a room on the 3rd floor, facing the back alley. Not a great view but with a building that is only 4 levels you don't really expect one either!... more

They call this a boutique hotel, but it lives up to that image only till the lobby of the hotel.
