My wife and I stayed here after being recomended as a good 5 star hotel what a let down.I will start with the good things the grounds are well kept and clean and the beach area and sea are good. The rooms are ok but the bathroom/shower is tiny and the towels are old and ragged. But the worst aspect was... more

We stayed at the RPM from 24/09/08 – 08/10/08 and overall enjoyed our stay but were disappointed by several aspects of this “4-star” hotel. Rooms: We were given a room overlooking the Courtyard which was great for people watching! The rooms are large but in need of some TLC, the pictures and bed covers are faded, the bathroom mirror was... more

Stay somewhere else. Somewhere newer. If you have ever traveled to nice places, pick another spot. The people are very, very nice. I agree with that. The rooms smell horrible. There are two separate beds pushed together to form a king. The shower area is dark and cramped. The air barely works. Little bugs flying around the room. You won't... more

We booked this vacation through Funjet at the recommendation of my travel agent. You select the hotel rating and Funjet selects the hotel. You don't learn about which hotel until about a week ahead of time. Kind of a surprise. We picked a "5 star" property and ended up at Riu Mexico. The property is beautiful. Our travel agent mistakenly... more

This is a fantastic hotel, with lovely people, who could not do enough to help. If you want a relaxing, luxury holiday this is the one for you. The food in all the restaurants was excellent. Though my husband would recomend Sir Edward Chocolate Muffin for dessert. If you go ask for Abraham in the main buffet, he is the... more

We had a lovely holiday here, the hotel was 1st class, the staff were excellent and very friendly, they could not do enough for you. We took our 3 boys 9, 13 & 16 they loved it too, there were lots of activities for them to take part in during the day. We loved the ease of use of the... more

We very much enjoyed the Riu Palace Mexico. The resort was clean, beautifully maintained and felt very safe. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice and the house keeping did a wonderful job. The food at the resort was good. We ate mostly at the buffet, which served a variety of tasty foods at breakfast, lunch... more

This was our second visit to this area. Last time was 5 yrs ago at the Riu Tequila. The palace is built to impress and it certainly does this. I agree with the positive reviews. It definitely has the best beach and a large sitting area between the pool and beach. Yes, the sand bags are ugly, but they had... more

My wife and I travelled to the RIU PALACE MEXICO on an all inclusive basis for our honeymoon. We researched this to excrutiating lengths as you'd expect but somewhere along the line somebody somewhere forgot to tell the hotel it was our honeymoon!! Which detracted slightly from what is a fabulous hotel. It took us a few days to sort... more

Just arrived home from the Riu Palace Mexico. Was there from 10/24 thru 10/31. This place is amazing, romantic and beautiful! We don't usually stay at 5 star resorts but decided to splurge this year. The grounds are perfect, the beach is wonderful, and the food is fantastic. The only room for improvement is the pool area. It's rather small... more
