We recently spent five nights at the Martineau Bay Resort on the beautiful island of Vieques in Puerto Rico. We found a great deal on Expedia for only $119.00 per night and after reading reviews on Tripadvisor and checking the hotel's website, we went ahead and booked it. We already had our airline tickets to San Juan and had planned... more

We were in the Martineau Bay Resort for a four-day weekend in June. The good news is that the ocean views and snorkeling are breathtaking. The bad news is that the staff is so bad it will take your breath away. First, our room was booked incorrectly and we were told upon arrival that the original room we reserved would... more

We went over Memorial Day weekend - and i have to say I was expecting to feel compromised (sp?) after reading the reviews. I thought the service was terrific, the setting was beautiful, and the peace and quiet was just what we wanted. The restaurant was pretty great - paso fino - it's a sleeper I think. There were alot... more

My husband and I are in our late 20’s/early 30’s and just returned from spending five nights at Martineau Bay. As the last reviewer said, the ferry is NOT WORTH IT. I strongly suggest flying. Not only is it a beautiful, short, and inexpensive flight, the ferry is nothing but a tourist trap and you’ll waste hours of your vacation... more

My husband and I just got back from Vieques this past week and we both loved it! Although others have complained about the condition of their room, even with high standards we were both very content. Upon a very friendly check in we were upgraded to an ocean view room overlooking the pool. The room was clean, the a/c worked... more

We stayed at the Martineau Bay resort during April. We had a great time in the resort. The rooms have beautiful tile and the bathrooms are big. Our room had a hot tub that we never used. The restaurant has a new chef and we had a meal in the hotel. It was difficult to find restaurants that were opened... more

To all the negative reviewers, the hotel is closing and being renovated by the W hotel and will reopen in a year, that being said, some of the service was terrible and some was great. I think the're disorganized right now, but will probably be amazing when they reopen. The hotel itself in in a georgeous setting and very private and... more

My husband and I just returned from a week in Vieques. We were looking for a quiet place with beautiful beaches and this is what we got. We stayed at the Martineau Bay Resort and Spa. Our room was very large. The Resort was somewhat worn but not in any way unacceptable. It was also empty! It felt as if... more

I had heard a lot about Vieques and read all the reviews about the Martineau Bay Resort. In a nutshell, if you're thinking of going there before August and you are not looking for high end, luxe accomodations, GO! We had a wonderful room (915) on the top floor (there are only three) that had a view of the ocean.... more

The Hotel itself is in a rundown condition as is the Island itself. The rooms were in a state of decay. The air in the room kept breaking down. The shower was pretty nasty although there was plenty of hot water. In fact we were told that by the next month they were closing the hotel for rennovations. It was... more
