I was very worried about my recent trip to Point Village, given some of the recent reviews on here. Some points were valid, some couldn't have been farther from the truth. I was traveling with my husband and 1 year old daughter. We checked in and were given a 1 bedroom condo at the far end of the resort (lots... more

RESEARCH. When going on a vacation to a country nothing like your own, you should first do research. I didn't, but that's because I'm not that hard to please. Point Village is a resort so if you want to be in the middle of the excitement, this is not your place. (I can only speak for November) FOOD. The daily... more

All I can say is please don't go there. It'll put you off Jamaica and you'll never go again. The whole resort is in a dilapadated state. Power cuts are a daily occurance. I am presently trying to get my money back from Thomas Cook, as I spent 8days there of my 2week holiday. I tried to get away from... more

We booked a weeks holiday at the end of October 2008 online with First Choice. On arrival the complex gave the impression of a 1960's/70's building that had failed to keep up with the times. Concrete in the forms of walls and paths were prevalent, while kept clean, showed its age, added to the lack of sufficient lighting, this on... more

I have just come back from Point Village and to be honest the resort didn't leave a impression on me. Check in was very quick and was givng my room key, i had to ask in what direction my room was and found out it was quite a distance away from reception, it was pitch black and hard to find... more

SAD from Tulsa Ok. After several trips to Point Village I am SAD at what it has become. The Last review has to be from the hotel. The property is one of the best setting in Jamaica. But the hotel has become a 1/2 star place. We stayed in a ocean front studio tv didn't work hot water heater only... more

Frankly I am amazed at persons who say they love a property and then are prepared to bash it based on hearsay. Guys don't you know what's happening in Jamaica and the world. Travel is down. Negril's small properties are having lots of challenges getting business for years now. There have been a lot of large hotels coming in to... more

This resort village is very run down, resembling an "undecorated since the 1950's Butlins" in an absolutely gorgeous setting. The whole place is extremely shabby with peeling paint, broken sunbeds lying around all over the place and virtually no entertainment happening at all. Maybe that's because it was low season but even so in my opinion it was very poor.... more

I'm reading all these bad reviews about Point Village and wondering what on earth is happening with this beautiful resort. We've been going twice a year since April 2004 and absolutely love it. There's been new management for the past 2 years and during that time it's been going downhill. We have booked through various UK tour operators (Mytravel and... more

This was our 4th trip back to PV. Our last visit was about 2yrs ago just before the present management took over, up to that point all previous trips had been excellent. The resort has in my opinion the best location in Negril, facilities are not great, but the resort has a true Jamaican feel to it. On our latest... more
