This resort is a 2 star in my opinion. I have stayed at 3.5 star resorts and not had the same experience as I did at this hotel. Rooms are very dated and need work. Many people we met had cockroaches in their rooms. We fortunately did not have any but it made us a little uncomfortable in our room.... more

I was moved to Playa Dorada after staying in a nightmare of a resort and a Motel 6 would have been a luxury resort compared to where were placed. Room- was a tiny bit run down but livable. Comforter had a couple rips in them. Thermostat was humorous to work with but it worked. Fridge and sink were a bit rustic. But these are SMALL THINGS. Small hick-up when we got there, our room was double booked. But in the end, after a 20 minutes wait, we were escorted to an ocean front suite instead. Not bad! We booked a sunwing vacation package through Expedia. Since we have 3 kids this proved difficult as the rooms at this resort only accomodate a max of 4, so we had to book two rooms.
