reserve tickets in advance! if you don't, you will be in a very, very long line waiting to go through security. we reserved the night before, and are so glad we did so as we made it through in 20 minutes rather than what could've been 2 hours. the statue itself is just one of those amazing landmarks to see... more

We thought we had followed the advice--go early, book in advance, and we still stood in line nearly 90 minutes just to get in moved into the line for security, which then took another 45 minutes. All that to get into the pedestal for 15 lousy minutes. The park service should really be embarrassed at how poorly this is run.... more
