Okay - I have not been there for a very long time. However, I went as a child and then I took my kids when they were young and it had not changed that much. I enjoyed it back when I was young and my kids enjoyed it too. It is a very neat little village where folks dress up... more

We just went there and took the advice to just go walk through Colonial Williamasburg and not buy tickets. This was the best advice, you really can enjoy the place by eating in the tavern and looking around the shops without paying for an entrance fee. We were a group of 4, parents with young married couple, and we all... more

We went to visit Colonial Williamsburg in the beginning of November and despite what the web site said, there was hardly anything open for us to see. Also, my kids were standing 2 feet from a chair in the Governor's Mansion and were told not to touch anything. We felt unwelcome there and in some other parts of the tour... more

We had a fabulous time. This is a place to ask questions of the costumed "citizens" on the street and on the tours. Most of them remain in character and make the whole thing come alive, adding details that you may not have read about or seen in movies. All are very informed -- just ask. All the programs and... more

How dare I besmirch the greatest historical re-creation in America? Just finished trip #5 to Williamsburg over the past 15 years and they have finally, yes finally, ticked us off. The high cost of admission is one thing that I can stomach, but they had many exhibits closed and others were open for only a few hours, making them easy... more

Colonial Williamsburg was once a national treasure, but no longer. We combined a trip here with Jamestown Settlement, and there is no comparison. At Colonial Williamsburg we got a surly shuttle driver, and encountering even one person like that can ruin a trip. Our hotel clerk at the Woodlands Hotel told us that we didn't need special tickets for the... more

I was sorry to read some of the comments here about CW. Some said it was like " a ghost town". I have never experianced this. I go in the spring or fall when the weather is just about perfect. Lots of happy people, young and old, with big smiles on their faces, having just a great old time. Many... more

I'm so glad I didn't pay to go into the buildings. You can get an adequate feel for the place by walking along the area streets and seeing the old brick architecture of the fort, church, governor's mansion. Kids will think it's BORING. They have a few tourist gift shops and a candy/ice cream store. From advertising it sounds like... more

Ok, we arrived in Williamsburg Friday at 6pm and we thought we would go in to CW to get something to eat. I was expecting things to be going on, some excitement, like we were back in the old times. But we turned the corner and it was a ghost town...So we thought maybe we were just there late, but... more

Okay, I went with my non American husband and two small children so that was probably not a good combination but..... I didn´t like it. It was terribly hot ( obviously not their fault ) and there was a lot of walking. The activities and things were very spread out and you had to pay attention to where you go... more
