Marrakesh: La Maison L'Arabe Cooking School Date: 13 November, 2008. Reviewer: Suzanne - Melbourne, Australia. I travelled to Morocco in September with 7 very good friends. As the nominated travel planner, I included a cooking class at La Maison L'Arabe. We stayed downtown at "La Maison" and were transferred to the outskirts of town to the hotel's private annexe. This... more

Thoroughly enjoyed this cooking workshop. The facility is set up really well, everything is modern and clean, with a beautiful pool and garden to have lunch by. Mohammed was an excellent teacher, very friendly and professional. He catered well for the two in our group who were vegetarian. The recipes were delicious (the best we'd tasted during our 4 days... more

My husband and I spent a great afternoon at the Maison Arabe cookery school. It was relaxing yet informative and very hands-on at the same time. Mohammed who runs the school was very friendly and took us through each stage of the ingredients and cooking at a nice pace. We made a lovely chicken and olive tagine with salad, which... more

We recently attended the cooking workshop at La Maison Arabe with some anticipation having read the reviews. We were very disappointed. We were taught to cook a very simple Moroccan starter (took about 10 mins to prepare), an equally simple tagine and a dessert of oranges sliced and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Hardly complex. For a half day cooking... more

I enjoyed attending La Maison Arabe cooking workshop as it was a very small kitchen so we could get individual attention from the lovely staff. It was authentic, the food delicious, the surroundings superb. My only criticism is that the demonstration was very slow, we could have learnt more dishes in the time and we we had to write down... more

As guests at the Hotel Maison Arabe for an extended hen weekend, we were fully acquainted with the lush paradise in which the cooking school is situated as it also houses the pool - a peaceful oasis with sun and seamless poolside waiter service. The hotel (in the heart of the Medina) provides a shuttle out to this beautiful facility... more

Coming to the La Maison Arabe cooking classes every year with my travel group is always a highlight of our journey. Stepping into the walled organic gardens, brushing the scented hedges and quietly watching the turtles in the pond is one of my favourite sensory experiences of Morocco. The grounds are immaculately and lovingly kept and the school beautifully fitted... more

My husband and I chose Morocco as a holiday destination after seeing a cooking show in Australia. Our ten day trip was finished off with a cooking class at La Maison Arabe. The location was so very beautiful, the kitchen was sensationally set up and Mohammed and his lovely assistant were great (and patient!) teachers. I found the class extremely... more

My daughter and I spent 2 1/2 weeks in April traveling throughout Morocco. One of the highlights of our trip was the cooking class sponsored by La Maison Arabe (which is also a wonderful place to stay while in Marrakech). We attended the class in a beautiful, tranquil setting on our last day in the fascinating city of Marrakech and... more
